Surefire!
Got it for my birthdya. Best. Flashlight. Ever.
Now, when we have a force protection drill I can run around with it in one hand and my 9mil in the other.

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
You lucky bastard. I got to handle the pre-production version of it a while back, had the 1W Luxeon Star LED instead of the 3W one they now use. It also works great as a fistload, use a hammering motion to beat people senseless with the butt end.
aerius: I'll vote for you if you sleep with me.
Lusankya: Deal!
Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

Doubt it. It's smaller than a mini-maglite.weemadando wrote:Is that the surefire one that can accept the nasty fucking front end attachment that makes it look like Saurons mace in the FotR intro sequence?
But at Least I got to be all tactical during a "Disgruntled sailor takes a hostage" drill.

Batteries are Lithium 3v. I suppose I'll eventually have to replace it.Comosicus wrote:First time I saw the picture I thought it was a lightsaber handle replica
How big is that baby? Does it go on disposable batteries or it has rechargeable ones? Anyway, that's a cool gadget.

Shit we should get one of those puppies, we always have these flashlights that run out of battery power and the batteries cost so much, at least with that type of battery it will last longer. We always run out of battery power when the power goes out. Using candles to go to that bathroom is not a good idea How much does that flashlight cost? Do you know?
That flashlight is not what you want for something with long-lasting light, it's designed to be very small and very bright. It also costs $125 and those 3V batteries are usually $1/each online. It is superbly well made, though.Mrs Kendall wrote:Shit we should get one of those puppies, we always have these flashlights that run out of battery power and the batteries cost so much, at least with that type of battery it will last longer. I'd suggest something like a Streamlight Twin-Task for what you want, it has powersaving LED-only modes and a 'normal' bulb for when you need more light.

This is the one I was thinking of:
The E2D Defender. wrote:
What do you do when things go bump in the night? If you're prepared for the worst, you reach for the E2D Defender, a personal safety device that packs a powerful defensive punch into a very small package.
The Defender features:
An advanced technology Xenon lamp that produces a spot-free beam so intense it can momentarily blind an attacker (four times more lighting power than a standard two D-cell flashlight), and its crenellated Strike Bezel allows it to be used as a last-ditch impact weapon. Constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum coated in a super rugged military-specification finish, the pocket-size E2D Defender also features an optically-coated PyrexTM lens; high-energy, ten-year shelf-life lithium batteries; a steel pocket clip, and law enforcement-style click-on/off momentary switching for blinding flashes or emergency signaling. A patented lock-out tailcap allows the light to be locked in the off position to eliminate accidental activation when stowed away.
* Batteries - Two lithium 123A 3.0 Volt with 10-year shelf life (included)
* Lamp assembly/Runtime - SureFire MN03 xenon gas-filled lamp assembly with 60 lumens output for 75 minutes, also accepts optional MN02 lamp assembly with 25 lumens output for 2.5 hours
* Construction - CNC machined aerospace-grade aluminum. Hard anodized finish for extreme corrosion impact and wear-resistance
* Length and weight (with batteries) - 4.85 inches / 3.2 ounces
* Flawless white beam, always in focus
* Patented lock-out tailcap feature allows the light to be locked in the off position to prevent unintentional activation during storage or transportation
* Lightweight and slim, with a steel pocket clip
* Weatherproof
* Perfect for placement in your backpack, glove compartment, toolbox, or pocket. You'll only notice it when you need it.

The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin
They are kinda, but if you end up using the flashlight enough, they'll pay for themselves. Biggest problem is that they're Li-ion, which means after 3 years, they're going to be dead, regardless of what sort of abuse or lack thereof you put them through.phongn wrote:Ouch, those look expensive ...Beowulf wrote:Might want to think about getting some lithium-ion rechargable CR123s.

Anyways, I need a new EDC since I've lost my precious 7-LED McKinley ... any suggestions? I'm pondering the redesigned version of it which looks sweet
