Anyone here have any experience with replacing the stock cooling solution on an MSI Neo4 Platinum board? Sometime in the near future I want to build a new system (and I like MSI), and I want to do it as silently as possible. I don't necessarily require it, but a passive solution would be nice as well. =)

If not, I'll probably have to go with a Abit AN8-ULTRA -- heatpipe based passive cooling solution -- woohoo!
Edit: Whoop, wrong link (now corrected):

Zalman sells a beefy heatsink specifically for chipsets (as do others). No fan needed directly but you'll want proper airflow over it.
Check Silent PC Review for quiet goodness.

Yeah, I know about the Zalman, but the problem is with the layout of the MSI board. It appears that any heatsink put on would get in the way of a PCIe card. I was hoping for some info on anyone who had tried something.phongn wrote:Zalman sells a beefy heatsink specifically for chipsets (as do others). I'd suggest leaving MSI NF4 boards out of your plans, compared to any other NF4 board they suck, not from a preformance view but from layout, with a large graphics card nearly hitting a transistor and the current boards(without BIOS revisions) not liking 90nm.
Useless geek posting above.
