What's a Veamon?
In Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight there was a multiplayer skin (that was quite cool I might add, I used it a lot) labelled "Veamon."
It was a humanoid character with silver skin, bald, squarish face (though they all had somewhat squarish faces since the polycount wasn't very high in the game, but still, the textures brought this out a lot). This character was called "Veamon" (was that his name? species?) in the skin selection screen, and called "Silver" in the game data files.
Is this something made up solely for the game, or is this part of some obscure EU alien species or character?
Anybody know? I'm inclined to think they just made it up, but I still wonder...

Here if you want it. It's good for quick references for names and sources, but not so for in depth technical write-ups.

Hm...if you win a lot of games using that skin, does it evolve to "X-Veamon"?Kurgan wrote:In Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight there was a multiplayer skin (that was quite cool I might add, I used it a lot) labelled "Veamon."

You're thinking along the lines of "pokemon" perhaps? I found "V-Mon/Veemon" a part of Digimon on wikipedia. Digimon came out in June of 1997, JK1 came out in October of the same year (though it was delayed multiple times before that).Molyneux wrote:Hm...if you win a lot of games using that skin, does it evolve to "X-Veamon"?Kurgan wrote:In Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight there was a multiplayer skin (that was quite cool I might add, I used it a lot) labelled "Veamon."

*sigh* It's a joke. Veemon was the central character (Daisuke/Davis)'s Digimon from Season 2, and he evolved to X-Veemon.Kurgan wrote:You're thinking along the lines of "pokemon" perhaps? Lost on one not familiar with the show... sorry *whiiiizz!!!*
Perhaps Justin Chin and the lucasarts JK1 team were some early digimon fans?
They dropped other jokes/references in the game, like "pinot noir" being a cheat code (I can't remember for what) and Eriamjh (close to the secret code in "Brazil").
