Why on Earth would you choose not to have a credit card?

Its actually pretty understandable. The banks can be real assholes about them. Lots of hidden fees and such.

So, does anyone know if there is anything special about this exclusive release, or is it just the regular version released a few weeks early?

This is the only release. As far as I know, there's nothing special about it at all. It just happens that only Best Buy is carrying it.

I think its only exclusive to Best Buy initially. After a while other places will carry it. I think.

Nope, this isn't at all like what's going on with the BSG Season One set. The SAB set is Best Buy-exclusive only.

Ahhh, guys. Look at the Genre;

Best Buy > Movies > Other Interests >Documentaries > Product Info

Happens all the time. Like seeing the Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles DVDs listed under horror, sci-fi, and family depending on which one you look at. :D

Digital Bits
A follow-up on the Space Above and Beyond news we posted yesterday: We've learned that Best Buy's exclusive retail window on the title will last only a couple of months (it starts on 10/4). So in late November or December, you'll be able to purchase the Fox-released set widely at other retailers. It will, however, be the EXACT same DVD release as the Best Buy version (unlike Universal's Battlestar Galactica: Season One, don't look for any additional features to be included on the wider release). Just FYI.

So according to this the Best Buy BSG release has more content then the normal DVD release? Fuckers.

Speaking as a blessedly former BBY employee.

a. Yeah bestbuy.com ftw. But w/ No credit card, get a non local relative to buy & ship it to you and you money order it back?

b. Why? Cause its great marketing and until you've worked it, its hard to imagine just how cutthroat that business is. It's absolutely vicious like you just would not believe both internally and externally because of the competition from Wally World, Circuit, etc... Best Buy, and others, make all sorts of these exclusive deals even though they actually lose money on them because its yet another thing to get people into the store where they can get you to buy other things.

My favorite of the current BBY policies is for the Repair Techs (Geek Squad) guys to be selling home theater equipment. If someone getting a new PC set up or a repair on an old one done even mentions ANYTHING having to do with Home Theater then they have to walk'em back to the department (far side of the store) and do their best to hook'em on some extra stuff.
