I'm A Psychic

Post by Haruko »

Well, not me. Someone at my forum seems to be deluted enough to believe he truly is, though.

The bullshit this troll, Eva, has spewed is so extravagant that I don't know where to begin. He seems to believe that some online multiple choice tests concluding that he's "moderately psychic" validates his claim. x.x

So, my question is, what do you say to such a person? I've made some sarcastic remarks in response in the thread linked below (my username there is Hyperion -- no relation to HyperionX o.o).

If you want to take a jab at this person, feel free to do so in the Psychic Abilities topic. Or, if you just want to have a headache -- I mean, enjoyable read...

Ask them why they haven't claimed the Randi award. That oughtta either shut them up, or get them trying to furiously backpedal and/or change the topic.

Get ready for the response. To do this, strap yourself to your chair to prevent falling down when laughing.

"Also, I believe this topic is the debate over Psychic abilitie, not about me taking a fucking test made from people who never even used Psychic abilities. At Psipog.net, everyone has used Psychic abilities and gave you intsructions, but I guess you guys are cowards to even try learning it for yourselfs."

Ah, furiously backpedaling then. Can't say I'm terribly surprised.

Point out first he said it takes 7 years to learn on page 1, and now he wants us to learn Psionics to demonstrate. Though maybe he would like it if the debate and subsequent demands for him to provide evidence stopped for years.

Set him a simpler challenge: ask him to predict the outcome of the thread he's posting in.

He left like the coward he was. Apparently, he was too sheltered as he was growing up and is an oversenstive bigot (see watch the profanity and It isn't your Religion, don't say anything). Eva didn't post anything of substance even after five pages, which doesn't surprise me. He simply continued backpedaling and accused us of ignorance for not accepting his claims uncritically despite the fact that whatever "evidence" he provided was grossly insufficient.

But don't you know. It doesn't work that way. I can only see glimpses of the future and not always when I want to.

That's too easy. I could do that.

The challenge would be met accurately, and after that, people would disreguard it because it was so blatently obvious that people would dismiss her correct answer to the challenge and proceed to say that it didn't count, invalidating the entire encounter.

Ask, "I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 50. Guess." Then repeat a couple of times to show how conclusively Eva sucks.

"You didn't put the number I was thinking of."

How about this, then. You email another member a number between 1 and 50, and ask him to guess what number it was. Then you post a screencap of the email, with the time sent clearly visible.

Also eaisly fakable. How about you get a file with the number in it, encrypt it, then give everyone a copy. Make him guess the number, then tell everyone the code to decrypt it. Since you have already given out the number, you can't be accused of changing it, and since its encrypted he can't see it

If I were given that challenge, I'd be cheeky and predict that everyone would "prove that I'm not psychic", but since the test to prove that I was psychic was to predict the outcome of the thread, the only way they could prove that I wasn't psychic would be to prove that I was psychic, and if they proved that I wasn't psychic, then they would have shown that I was psychic as I would have predicted the outcome of the thread (using my psychic abilities)....

You could ask him what the DOW is going to be at at the closing bell Monday. You can't rig that.

Eva also claimed to have the ability to make psi-balls (or whatever you call them -- whatever they are) and perform telekinesis.

I don't think this person even deserves such intricate tests, but I guess it would be fun. Since this person was arguing a positive, it was up to him to validate his claim. He didn't even make it sound possible. His argument pretty much consisted of "I'm right because I say so", "I'm right because someone else said so", or "I'm right, but you guys just think I'm wrong because you're cowards and haven't taken the time to practice it".

Inspired by this thread I went and took a test at tickle.com I scored 93/100 for Clairvoyance. Apparently that is higher than 93% of the people who took the test. I think the clairvoyance score was decided by this type of question were you see a grey box and need to say what was under it(I think this because that was the only type of question that was not either totally randomized or I answered no to).

Basically I just used physiology. I thought which shape would the person making the test pick. Which colour is more appealing? Which of these shapes would be most easily recognised. Any way it’s a load of rubbish.

It says this about my clairvoyance score.
Your score on objective questions
Tickle asked a number of objective questions that have definite right and wrong answers to them. A person randomly guessing on the answers to these questions would normally get about 2 correct. You got 7 out of 9 correct, which translates to a very strong psychic ability in this area.
