TRANSLATION:
This comes from the novel Farseer. It is known that at least one Navigator (a mutant offshoot of human that has psychic powers optimized for guiding ships through the Warp) is greatly indebted to Eldrad and thus the Eldar. This debt goes waaay back, before the advent of the Emperor.
The Eldar can call in a debt by giving the Navigator of the House a special Coin, and there are seven coins related to this. So far 5 have been traded in, (Number 6 is the price of the Navigator's aid in the book.) The Coins mean a lot to the families. So far no one has ever came back from repaying this debt, and since the families still consider this a fair exchange, it is only a small leap to conclude they will do anything to repay this debt.
The older GW books, revealed that showing the third eye o a Navigator to any human not a navigator ment instant Death... and since this debt is a resource that Eldred can call up on, being the guy who gained it in the first place, and whose name is a part of the ceremony to recognise that the recalling of the debt is regit....
The older GW books, revealed that showing the third eye of a Navigator to any human not a Navigator meant instant death...
Also, Eldrad is entitled to use this resource becasue he gained it in the first place.
( I just translate, I don't advocate)
