You are aware that Peregrin is arguing from Denmark, and studies he is citing relate to Denmark, where prostitution is already legal?

There does, however, seem to be a disconnect between handwringing about girls entering prostitution at the expense of education and actually finding out why they are doing it and seeing if social conditions can be changed in order to reduce the effect, or finding better ways to regulate the industry to prevent the young from entering it.

The fact that these girls are being trapped in by this lifestyle and then turning to substance abuse seems to indicate that they aren't doing it just for luxury money, but due to some other social condition that persists whilst they are still in the sex industry.

Yes; I was under the impression Peregrin was arguing from the thesis there are non-religious arguments to ban prostitution. I may have been mistaken.

I agree. However, as I pointed out, Peregrin was looking to demonstrate there were reasons to ban prostitution which didn't argue from religion; being trapped in the lifestyle isn't such a reason.

The lifestyle begs for social reevaluation and possible regulation, but the one thing for which prostitution does not ask is illegalization.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
