Guys, I'm not a mod at all, but seriously cut it out.

There was a time last season when people were complaining when we had an SG-1/SG-A/nBSG mega thread since it was just too confusing as to which show people were talking about.

So it was decided to make a seperate thread for each show.

I don't watch SG-1, so I would prefer not to have an SG-1/A mega thread as I'd probably not participate.

I recall no other complaints last year.

In any case, back to the actual discussion, no, Pegasus isn't far away by Asgard ship. The Daedalus takes days to make the trip, but there's no reason to assume its speed is equal to that of a true Asgard ship. And for the record, 60 is a lower limit. That was (IIRC, it was actually 62) the number of hive ships in one quadrant of pegasus. That implies that there may be round 240.

Actualy we never had a mega thread. There were combined SG threads and BSG fans kept invading the SG thread. Last season it was combined SG threads with a seperate BSG thread when the BSG fans laerned that there wasn't a combiend scifi friday thread.

There were both. I remember because I specifically asked to keep SG-1 and SG-A seperate.

I wash my hands of doing this, Alyeska can hold himself responsible for the Sci-fi-Friday discussion threads, as it evidently means so much to him.

Well before I combined the threads you had SG1 discussions going on in the SGA thread and SGA discussions going on in the SG1 thread. And thats going to happen time and time again because of how the series are tied together.

I know it's all done in the idea of saving from a mess of threads. What about a third thread for Stargate Universe discussion with spoilers for both sides?

You know, a dedicated Stargate forum could solve this. (mutters about that idea being shot down once before).

Maybe the powers that be would be more likely to add a dedicated forum for current mainstream Sci-fi TV shows in general? Basicly nBSG, SG-1 and SGA. But could expand later. For all the spammy show talk and what not.

That is what this forum is for. If and when we get the subforums mod, all will be solved.

Personally, I liked the seperate threads better than the merged. But this is something better discussed in another forum, not the thread itself.

Plus the fact that each Hiveship has at least two accompanying cruiser escorts (IIRC, i think that's closer to 3 or 4). So if that number holds up, that means the Wraith fleet as a whole is over 700 ships, or even up to 1,200 ships. And this is from what survived the war with the Ancients, at the beginning they might've had more. Lends more to the idea of the Ancients simply being swamped by the Wraith.

We only know about 21 wraith ships afaik. The sixty+hiveships number was a guess by Peter Grodin.

Unterground:
PETER: But we were able to ascertain the existence of 21 wraith hive ships just in our quarter of the Pegasus galaxy alone

SHEPPARD: 21?

PETER: And there are indications of far more elsewhere in Pegasus.

SHEPPARD: How many more?

PETER: Well there’s no way of knowing for sure…perhaps sixty or more…

SHEPPARD: That’s a lot of ships

That's a good point. You lot saw how easily the ancient satellite raped that Wraith ship, and how the ancient drone weapon absolutely destroyed the Goa'uld attacking Earth (and apparently the Goa'uld are more advanced than the Wraith), so perhaps the Wraith had taken simply massive casualties over the time they had been assaulting Atlantis. Something in the order of thousands of ships.
