Jango Fett vs. Samas Aran

Having just seen Metroid Prime, I was idly wondering which one of these two beings, with their uber-suits, would be better in a combat scenario. In addition, which is better at scouting out an area, and which one's suit is cooler?

Samus, her suit survived her ship flying into an asteroid and blowing up, and still retained an airtight seal to protect her from the vacuum of space. She can spend about a minute and a half in magma. Her suit can carry hundereds of missiles, dozens of super missiles and power bombs, jump a pretty much infinate distance, and do a powerful attack and become almost invicable while in that attack, even to the magma.

OH and lets not forget the freeze ray and wave beam, the ability to shoot through walls and stop you enemy cold. I'm thinking Samus could take a large number of Stormies before going down.

Well, the freeze ray kind of sucks, but the suit's other abilities are nice.

Not sure... I know Samus can jump pretty well and stuff, but Jango has a jetpack... Also, how powerful is his blaster? Offhand I'd say that Samus wins... She just kicks ass with more style

Samas takes it. Her armor seems stronger, and she can transform into the ball and make a speedy retreat if need be.

In Super Metroid, a fully upgraded Samus can waltz around in lava and take NO damage. Can Jango's suit survive a magma bath?

How about a bomb that hits everything on the screen?

Or super-speed with a running start, which can be transformed into a super-jump?

Or the Hyper Beam, which can smash through steel walls several feet thick in one hit?

Samus wins.
Varia suit: Protects against extreme temperatures. Improved protection against damage over her baseline armor.
Gravity suit: Increased protection over Varia suit. Enables Samus to move freely underwater as if on land. Combined with Varia suit enables Samus to sit indefinitely in lava without damage.

Charge beam: Enables Samus to charge up her weapon and fire more powerful shots.
Ice beam: Freezes what it hits.
Wave beam: Shots pass through obstacles.
Spazer/triple beam: Triples beam width.
Plasma beam: Greatly increases beam strength. Improved penetration against armored targets unable to be penetrated by wave beam.

Missiles: Duh.
Super missiles: 3 to 5 times more powerful than Missiles
Ice missiles: See ice beam.

Bombs: Small bombs laid while using Morphing Ball.
Power Bombs: Very powerful bombs, also laid using Morphing Ball.

Space jump: Gives Samus the ability to spin-jump into the air, then jump again at the apex of the original jump. Can be maintained indefinitely, giving her the ability to fly.
Screw attack: Makes Samus virtually invincible while spin-jumping, and givers her the ability to break through obstacles while using it.
Spider ball: Gives her the ability to stick to and roll across walls while using Morphing Ball
Morphing Ball: Gives her the ability to roll into a small ball and access small passages.
Ball jump: Allows her to jump while using Morphing Ball.

Hi-jump boots: Lets her jump much higher than normal.
Speed booster: Allows her to dash at high speeds and power jump. Can break through obstacles and kill enemies in her way.

Her visor can scan objects, giving detailed information on them. Contains an X-ray scanner able to see through objects and thermal imaging. I'm sure there is more I don't know about or can't remember.

I just checked. Her ship ejected her before hitting the asteroid. We can't really tell if she was exposed to vacuum at this time because she was in an escape pod, though that point still stands as her suit is exposed to vacuum in Metroid Prime.

Well I never played Metroid...but does anyone remember Turrican? Can transform into a spinning ball...has an energy 'whip' etc...

XaLEv: You forgot the diffusion ability on missiles and the super upgrade for regurlar missils(makes them more powerful then normal missiles but not as powerful as Super missiles like SA-X or Super Metroid Samus had).
Diffusion gives the missiles the ability to spread it's ice effect and damage over a radius much larger then a super missile, but less than the Super Bombs.

I'm not sure her main gun is as powerful as a blaster, but I'm pretty sure her power armor is tough enough to take a lot of hits. Her missiles aren't bad, generally. She takes it easily of course. I'd like to see her just jump through fett using the screw attack. That'd be funny.
I've always wanted to do some sort of tech analysis, but my best source right now is Prime and I have no access to a copy. Maybe I'll force my precense on a friend of mine.

I was aware of Diffusion missiles, but didn't know what they did so I left them out. And I did sort of cover Fusion super missiles when I said 'three to five times more powerful', but I suppose I should have made the distinction.
