The main problem now is that they're trying to argue the size of the SW galaxy... stupid? Yes. But that's what's going on. And it's been narrowed down to two incidents really: the Tatooine - Geonosis and the Sullest - Endor.
I'm arguing for the official 120,000 Lightyears, about 4 times the width of what they'd like it to be.

Oh my god... Son-of-CCN still isn't giving up, the only point he conceeded was Vader vs Kirk...

And that was after posting the following:
Son-of-CCN wrote:
Dakarne wrote:I'm sorry, but Vader, though mortal, is a really deadly Cyborg (as seen in Episodes III, IV, V, and VI.)

Kirk is pretty tough his ownself.
Dakarne wrote:Second: Kirk wouldn't live through the first of those minutes...
Nobody dies instantly from force choking.

Dakarne wrote:Third: Vader let The Death Star officer live, watch the movie again
Yes,yet he didn't seem to suffer any long term effects.
Dakarne wrote:Fourth: Vader's a 6'8 Cyborg with a bad Temper.... He doesn't even need the bloody force to just wring Kirk's neck!
Good point. HOwever I still got to go with Kirk. With the force the odds are in Vader's favor.Kirk would have to kill Vader in a minute or two before dropping dead. With out it,however I say it's in Kirk's favor. While Vader has raw strenght considering Kirk could beat Klingons who are abotu 3 times teh strenght of humans I doubt if that will be a factor. So I guess I need the following questin answered.
how fast is Vader? with like reaction time and such.

Oh for fuck's sake, this guy has his head more up his ass than RSA. What's going to stop Vader from simply ripping Kirk's entire fucking trachea out of his neck. We know he has more than enough strength to do so, considering he was ripping bolted metal fixtures from a metal wall in TESB.

Wow, Son of CNN has really gone down hill. When I first debated him he was at least reasonable. Now he’s wanking trek.

What. Please don’t insult me. I don’t think Star Wars was the Uber of all. I know of a couple of universes that could easily defeat the Empire. I just know that SW is better then ST and get mad with there bull shit. (I just didn’t know people thought so little of me).

Yes... he did post that, he did actually concede before I could respond, he must have actually LOOKED at what he put.

Cpl Kendall wrote:Well I just saw ROTS in theater and there's a new argument for the speed of hyperdrive, Vader's injuries. Cader sustaines 3 amputations and 3rd degree burns over 100% of his body and then is left lying on the shores of a lava flow on Mustafar by Kenobi. It would have been medically impossible for Vader to survive more than 6-12 hours in his condition before the Emperor arrived to retrive him. His breathing was already ragged (you can clearly hear this in the theatre) and the dyhdration from the burns would have been very severe, not to mention that he would have been in deep shock at this point. Going by my own injuries in this department (electrocution burns over 20% of my body 3rd and 4th degree), I can safely say that Vader would have died before half the day was out.

This puts a lower limit on the speed of the Emperors shuttle of 12 hours to reach the Mustafar system from Coruscant, remember he left halfway through the battle "I sense that Lord Vader is in danger". I'll leave it up to you guys to do the math but I'm being very generous to the Trek side here, in the novelization Obi-wan is said to see the Emperor's shuttle descending as he is leaving the planet, so I doubt they fought for 12 hours.
The novelization confirms that the Emperor arrived as Obi-Wan left. In any case, they'll just make up bullshit that Mustafar is only a few light years away from Coruscant.

Do we have any canon figures for how far Mustafar is from Coruscant? That would settle this fairly decisively.

Not yet it hasn't. The statement in the movie that Mustafar is "in the Outer Rim" is evidence enough that it's at least nearly half the galaxy's diameter from Coruscant. If memory serves, however, the Trektards have claimed that the term "outer rim" refers to the outskirts of Republic/Imperial influence, and not to the edge of the galaxy.

I was more refering to threads in the "Other Versus" forum where you simply conclude Wars would win when we have no hard numbers on anything for the series in question (especially the Stargate Supership one).

Better than that: the novelisation has the Yoda vs. Sidious fight starting as Padme's ship lands on Mustafar, and Sidious then beat Yoda, sensed that Anakin was in trouble, and arrived on Mustafar in time to prevent Obi-Wan from finishing Anakin off. Unless they want to claim that the Obi-Wan vs. Anakin fight lasted for days, that's some prety hefty speed there.

One of the Wraith Squadron books has Runt waiting on standby in an X-Wing on a moon with nothing but a "portable bladder" of some sort for a refresher that he had to take with him, suggesting that the X-Wing itself had no capacity to deal with pilot waste.

There you go... proof from the EU which isn't overridden by Canon...

but whether they'll listen to it is a completely different matter entirely.

Oh look, an arguement for once...

According to SailorSaturumon13, the reason the Federation haven't explored more than 8000 Lightyears, is because it's now "Cornered on all sides".

What is it that drives people to make such preposterous claims? Don't they realize that any sensible person who watches DS9 and Voyager will come to the inescapable conclusion that traversing a galaxy in a reasonable amount of time without alien assistance is clearly beyond their abilities? Both of those entire series hinge almost entirely upon this particular inability.
For a time, I considered sparing your wretched little planet Cybertron.

You mean the one were I was not allowed to use the EU or ICS and the other guy said that ISD had below kiloton turbo lasers. If I remember correctly the weapon calculations for Anabas super ship with the Eye upgrade only had about 240 GT for its main gun. Which is a little more powerful then a medium turbo laser. Anyway I said that one of the most powerful ships in SG (which I’m a big fan of) might be able to destroy a stander run of the mill ISD in a one on one fight.

Strek-v-Swars.net has actually slowed down... I think the last 5-6 Posts have been myself, Vympel, Mange the Swede and of course, Darkstar.
