Video Request: Sephiroth's Meteor
Odd request, I know. Does anyone have a clip of Sephiroth performing his imfamous 5-minute Cut-Scene attack "Meteor" (If I got the attack name wrong, I appologise). I've only ever seen it twice in my life, and I'd like to know if anyone ever made garnered a clip of this--the longest cutscene for any attack in FF7?
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!
Browncoat
Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."
Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.
"God! Are you so bored that you enjoy seeing us humans suffer?! Why can't you let this poor man live happily with his son! What kind of God are you, crushing us like ants?!" - Kyoami, Ran

Meteor or Supernova?
Meteor is the big plot device meteor that he summons to collide with The Planet and Supernova is his "I can destroy the entire solar system but still not kill the three people right in front of me" attack.
Anyway... you can find Supernova, if that's the one you're looking for, here.

3 minute cut-scene "Supernova" is what I'm looking for. Thanks

Re: Video Request: Sephiroth's Meteor
It's pretty ridiculous. I clocked it at around two minutes, with a few skippings on my PS. It's fun watching all those planets explode of course.Majin Gojira wrote:Odd request, I know. I hate hate hate the later FF games for that very reason, the ridiculously long, unskippable summon/magic animations. Gawd. What was the one that had the goddamned, like...like VII or something? Where you nearly needed to summon EVERY SINGLE fight and you had to sit through the shit EVERY TIME? Jesus. It got to the point that I would cast a summon spell, then I would go get a pepsi, sit back down, open it, and start drinking it before the stupid shit was over.
HATE.
HATEHATEHATE.

I remember one problem with fighting Emerald WEAPON when you didn't have the Underwater Materia was that the only way you could really hope to win was to hit it with Knights of the Round a bunch. But that could lead to problems if your people died and whatnot, slowing you down, and taking into account how much time each summoning is going to eat up.

The one with the massive amout of summoning, as one viable strategy, was VIII. And that was at the same time the last Final Fantasy where you couldn't set summon spells to short animation. I think the Eden summon of VIII is actually longer than Supernova, and had a big wow effect as it was one of the few things in VIII that could do five digit damage. (Although some attacks could do multiple four digit damage hits... which kind of invalidated the whole big summon...)

All the complaints about the uber-long summons was the reason they finally gave you the option to shorten it.
Although FF9 had an interesting way of showing the full length the first time, then only showing the full length as a 'critical damage' result. The rest of the time you got the short version. FF10 you could chose long or short intro for the Summons.

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.
