Dungeon Siege II game mechanics overhaul.

Post by weemadando »

A friend just e-mailed me with a wonderful quote... He and I share a distaste for "Diablo" type games which have no actual gameplay in them (you click and click and click, never actually interact).

Apparently however, for Dungeon Siege 2 there has been a MAJOR CHANGE to the game mechanic:
Gamespy E3 Preview wrote:The combat mechanics in particular were overhauled . . . You have to keep your mouse on enemies as well, instead of just clicking on an enemy once and sitting back while the game does the fighting for you.
My my, if that isn't a gameplay revolution, I don't know what is. How people can call games like Dungeon Siege and Diablo some of the greatest games of all time absolutely shocks me. RUBBISH GAMEPLAY!

Meh. In playing the demo, I was pretty impressed, personally. I'll probably get it. The story is certainly more interesting than the first game, and it's got so many cool little additions.
