Now I know that many of you have no use for Darkstar, but I actually derive some enjoyment in debating with him, if for no other reason than so one can see the futility in attempting to argue someone who is steadfast in their beliefs to one's point of view. I personally find this debate to be boring and a perfect example of why SB.com is an inferior debating site. The members there are clearly idiots or they would be able to see through DarkStar's drivel. Instead, the seeming majority of him compare him to MIKE WONG in all respects, one poster even explicitly demonstrating his stupidity by doing an "in depth" comparison of the two while failing to back up every single one of his points. That's something that I find to be inexcusable in a debate. Had he said that here, he would have been called on it immediately. As it is, he was able to escape. I find SB.com to be an infuriating waste of time, with almost nothing intellectual to offer up.

The standard of discussion there is often pure shit. Reading threads over there is very frustrating. The fact that Darkstar's bullshit is tolerated and only a few people actually call him out on his fucking retard arguments speaks volumes.

Spacebattles isn't as a whole retarded, it's got some truly stupid versus debaters however. None are worse than the rabid trekkies. They don't even want to look at the facts and would instead irrationally attack Mike. The fundies there are almost as bad.

I cannot believe the double standard that he uses, here. He states that AT-ST's are combat vehicles because the only times we see them in the movies they are being used in such a role (though once they were being used to support AT-AT's, in a logical move if they were mechanized infantry or scouting vehicles), but AT-AT's are canonically TRANSPORTS, even though the only time we see them used for an extended time in the movies is front-line combat. And he DARES TO CALL THIS LOGICAL!

Possibly not, but it IS their fault for advertising their stupidity, and it is the fault of the community for not attempting to educate them, as happened in this case.

I believe attempts have already been made to educate Vypr in the past, and obviously without success. You cannot educate those who will not listen to you.

They're treated like idiots and laughed at for the most part. They can't get rid of them short of banning so they're tolerated. But sadly some of the infuential board members are just short of fundy christians so it's inevitable that fundies are tolerated. Sad but true.

The majority are a decent, it's just the idiot minority are as loud or louder.

You were able to educate Darkstar? Or are you refering to the fact that he was banned, I thought Wong banned him...... it doesn't matter. I don't think anyone has been banned at SB.com for being stupid, I don't think so but I could be wrong.

Thus SB.com and SD.net have different solutions. We ignore them, you ban them.

Master of Ossus repeatedly showed up DarkStar to be an idiot- but he was only banned when he basically made Mike ban him. If Mike hadn't banned him, it would've set a very bad precedent.

I know MoO, and many many others repeatedly showed Darkstar to be an idiot. All I am saying is SB.com has dealt with many idiots and eventually it gets old, they are simply trolls and are treated as such.......they are ignored.

I am in complete agreement with Mike Wongs decision against Darkstar.
