G.I. Joe returns to Toonami

Ah, the wonderfully camp, blatantly commercial, original 1980s cartoon show G.I. Joe has been picked up for the late-nite Toonami lineup on The Cartoon Network. Produced by the same merry folks who gave us The Transformers, G.I. Joe was another afternoon half-hour toy commercial but immensly entertaining for its laughably simplistic notions of warfare and terrorism, it's insanely OTT chief villains Cobra Commander and later Serpentor, and of course the A-Team-style combat in which millions of rounds of ammo or laser fire are expended but nobody so much as even gets a scratch. All in all, a show which recasts the world as a global WWF grudge-match with Afterschool Special moral lessons tacked onto the end of each episode.

But, it did feature afternoon kid-TV's one and only leather dominatrix —The Baroness— and had the delectable Lady J of the Joe Team, who had nice boobs for a cartoon.

I saw a few episodes on that when my Dad brought us some tapes from overseas. Our GI Joe collection (me and my brothers) ruled.

The very end of the episode reveals that he is none other than Cobra Commander himself, driven underground after Cobra was defeated and disbanded.

All I remeber about GI Joe besides the Camp was the Giant Rolling Commander Ceneter, That fucker was HUGE, I mean roughly the Size of the Avarage Mid sized ATX Case(Look down at your Computer) to give you a size comparison

Think how big that is for a Kid, Loaded that thing came in at around 21 Pounds, unloaded about 17, to let you know how many small parts that sucker had

My favorite toy was the Cobra Night Raven. SR-71 ripoff with a humpbacked small fighter/shuttle thingy, missiles with rear firing missiles IN the missiles, a rear-firing machine gun, and a drop down weapons bay with MORE missiles. Oh and a drop down cockpit module.
