What is it about little children in horror movies and games that makes them so damn creepy? A spooky spoiler related to the demo: Near the end, when you start climbing down the ladder and the girl appears next to you out of nowhere - you shouldn't scare players like that when they are in such a helpless situation!

Judging by the demo alone, F.E.A.R. doesn't seem quite as scary as System Shock 2 or AvP, but it still ranks pretty high. I didn't like all the weapons like that sci-fi plasma rifle, but blasting away with the good ole' shotgun in slow-motion was an orgamistic experience. All the damage to the environment, physics engine that sends my enemies flying backwards because of the impact.... [/homerdrool] Depending on my cash situation and length of the final game, I'm strongly considering buying F.E.A.R. The soon to be released adventure game "Fahrenheit" is a strong contender, however.

I thought it was pretty nice. Seems to have more atmosphere than HL2.

If the bloody thing didn't hard crash my computer every time I reach the bit just after the little girl crosses your field of view for the second time (skeleton in the corner just before you go up the ladder- i.e. I never make it up the ladder) I might have an opinion on the game. Fucking worthless ...

oh but you gotta admit that the fleshburning is pretty cool. And for what its worth, if you go to options you can see the weapons list and the plasma rifle seems to be the only enegery weapon out there. All the rest are good ol' fashioned slugtrowers

and yeah, the part with the ladder scared the shit out of me. It was also pretty creepy where she walks right past you in the sewers (didnt even noticed the first time i played the demo)

Hehe, I loved the that plasma rifle. One hit and they're char-grilled chicken. The shotgun and the assault rifle are also excellent weapons. I wasn't much on the SMG, though.

My apologies, although I wasn't so much talking out of my ass as I was just speaking without consideration. But still, my apologies for generating offence. I shall restate it as following:

God damn fucking bullet-time bullshit. I figured something so fucking faddish would be dead in games after the second Max Payne abortion.

somehow I'm better with the SMG than the assault rifle. My main favorite is that penetrator tough. Spiking people to the wall is fun :D

Take some dramamine and you'll be fine. Bullet time is one of the cooler effects for a shooter, especially if the main character is supposed to be super-capable. Really, what better way is there to denote that? The only other option would be auto-aim, and shit, THAT's lame.

Einhander either make your posts a little less colorful and a little more informative or I'll just start editing them down to what your acutal say.

For example the above would read,

Dear Sir! This is indeed dreadful! That this demo, no matter how utterly stupendous and amazing. Is indeed of such a large size that my bandwidth be coughing at the mear prospective of a download!

And the second part would read... hmmm

Well, yeah. :) It completely redeemed the weapon from total lameness. All in all, the weapon arsenal in F.E.A.R. puts the BB guns of Doom 3 in complete shame. My favourite weapons in the demo were shotgun and pistol --- unlike in most games, in F.E.A.R. the pistol is acctually worth using.
And for what its worth, if you go to options you can see the weapons list and the plasma rifle seems to be the only enegery weapon out there. All the rest are good ol' fashioned slugtrowers
What a relief, thanks.

It RAPES MY SYSTEM.

My x800pro eats up the graphics, but my pitiful 512mb of RAM cannot keep up. I need more RAM.

Yum Yum Yum! My system eats it up, then the enemy eats me up. :)

Does the G2A2 only have three-shot-burst or is there a way to go full rock-n-roll with it?

I'm having the same problem. Seeing my beautiful system brought to its knees at such low settings makes me want to cry. I too suspect the amount of RAM to be the culprit.
