Multi-Board Poll: Teaching Intelligent Design in schools

Post by Plushie »

Hello, I'm here to present a question that is currently undergoing much review by various legislators around the United States: whether or not to include the philosophy of "Intelligent Design" in public school science classes.

This poll will be posted on several boards through GameFAQs, including Cotton, LUE, the War on Terrorism board, the Poll of the Day board, and Current Events. I will also be posting the poll on the Nation-States General forum and StarDestroyer.net's Science, Logic, and Morality forum.

To present the question itself:

Do you believe that Intelligent Design, as defined as an intelligent interloper designing and creating life on Earth, should be taught in public high school science classes around the United States?

A simple yes or no answer is all that will be counted. Please to do not attach platitudes to your posts or start debates, yes or no, yea or nay will do.

The poll will be closed at the end of August (August 31) and results tallied and reposted on all boards the poll was posted on.

This poll has been stickyfied until the 31st-Bean

I think you'll find it quite the unanimous answer here, but I'd be interested in seeing the results elsewhere when you're done.

As we are probably the smartest forum out of all of those you listed I think we'll have a resounding "NO" vote.

Of course not. Unexplained intelligent intervention is not scientific. It's also quite obviously a religious, not scientific argument, that explains nothing. Intelligent design for life can be argued for anything, can you imagine if Edison had argued for intelligent current placement behind lightning?

Completely stupid.

Platitude Attached: No. Intelligent Design is as much of a theory as the numbers below that I'm pulling out of my ass.

Anyone who thinks that fraud has a place in school is a blithering idiot. And yes, "intelligent design" as a scientific theory is nothing more than an outright fraud, since it lacks empirical data, predictive capabilities, or even a mechanism.

No. Intelligent design is nothing more than Creationism in a clown suit (to shamelessly borrow someone else's line.) It has no place in any scientific cirriculum of any school that isn't aiming to produce complete idiots.

And this, I bet, is going to be the most lopsidedly unanimous poll in the history of this board.

That seems rather difficult seeing how no established religion proposes that man evolved from lower forms of life with or without the help of some creator. ID is not science, and it is not Biblical, it's just false middle ground for those too stupid to accept evolution and too timid to believe in an old fashioned six day style creation myth.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

I wonder who the two closet dumbasses are on the board.

Dumb and Dumber? Both of them appear to be spineless cowards, in any case. I haven't seen them post to justify their views.

They both know that it would end in tears.... for them.

I want them to post, so we can debunk the claims.

Or, just maybe, they clicked the wrong thing accidentally?

Now calling out the three folks who voted yes on the teaching of Intelligent Design.

Explain your views. Why do you believe that intelligent design should be taught in the public high school science cirriculum?

Be brave. The Evil Atheist Conspiracy promises not to bite. Well, not hard, anyway.

3 now. Chances are they are just people who normally avoids the science logic and morality board. Or it could have just been a misclick.
