If they'd needed him alive, they wouldn't have been swinging a lightsaber at him. It stands to reason that the LAAT/i cannot, for some reason, engage air targets like Dooku's speeder with its lasers.

Are you saying that lightsabers cannot be used in any manner that is less than lethal? Nearly every lightsaber fight we have seen has ended in a non-lethal injury.

Are you saying you think that a fething military rocket exploding under his ass wouldn't have killed him? What exactly do you think Anakin meant when he said to shoot him down? Do you think Anakin was thinking they could shoot him with a rocket and not kill him?

Missles are show and demostrated to be highy intellgent and able to do a varity of things, What they wanted to do is what Happen to the Speeder, They are CONCUSSION missles, Knock him off the Speeder, he's a Jedi he will survive the fall but now he's 20Km from anything and I don't think you can Force Speed through Sand, Plenty of time to surround him with Troopers and make him surrender

And you feel that some kind of bizarre and utterly incomprehensible "can't use lasers air to air" explanation makes more sense than "guns dry after expending all their ammo on ground targets"?

To be honest I thought it was a bit of a plot hole...okay, their out of rockets...so use the lasers!

Perhaps the lasers where out of ammo? Thats understandable, but not mentioned! It should have been mentioned!

Thats just one of the things that I felt was wrong with AOTC...

Book states out of ordinance.

Chances are the lack of missiles and laser power had already been stated, but not the lack of functional rockets.

You fokes are overcomplicating it, They need to knock him out of the air, They DONT need to kill him, So you use a missle and drop it 40 Meters ahead of him and the blast tosses him off the bike

It's too random. Explosions are by their nature very random things. There is no way to predict where every piece of shrapnel will go. It would be impossible to garantee that he would not be killed.

The risk would be acceptable at 40-50 meters. If the warhead was an expanding rod you could predict where all significant fragmentation would go. And is it is those rockets are very small, there's not going to be a lot of fragmentation.

Then why did he say shoot him down rather than force him down? I'd tend to agree the argument that they were out of ammo would make more sense.
