I do find that Wong's recent gaming articles have been rather preachy, not to mention not paraodic enough. But you guys are just all jealous that you have none of the awe-inspiring graphical capabilities of the Nedroid.

PWOT used to have movie reviews that were absolute satire, but some of the recent articles are, again, more to the point, and unfortunately preachy as the consequence.

I recommend:

Halo 2 and the Criminal Mind

The Monkeysphere social theory

The Second American Civil War

The PWOT Suicide Guide- much better than Maddox's guide.

And as for the Something Awful comic- did the guy not know what Kingdom of Loathing is, at all? Absolutely nothing? I know that KoL isn't meant to be directly a lampoon of MMORPGs, but still its pretty close, and its existence kind of nullifies the acerbic point to the Something Awful article.

Oh great, the "you're all just jealous!" counter. I've personally never understood the whole reasoning behind that.

Anyway, I'm certainly not jealous. I just don't find the guy's writings to be remotely interesting to read.

Very possible. You know why I laughed?

Because it was spot on anyhow. Unlike Wong's article, which not only sucked, but additionally was insipid and wrong on virtually every point it raised.

As for your last point, not at all. The point that MMORPGs tend to develop such situations is in no way nullified by it being parodied in one game. Because the accusations still carry weight.

Ah, but I'm no longer talking about the article. I'm talking about the artwork.
