Do you even realise how long that would take, or even how much of a risk of getting attacked it would be to get the supplies for that?

I would go with DOTD because I can at least try to hide out in a strong hold. But if the aliens find me i'm pretty much screwed. They killed so much in like 3 days, I fear what the earth would look like in 20 days.

Well, maybe I could shove it off a bit, just enough to keep any zombies from coming aboard. I mean, at the least, I should be able to seal the hatches...right?
This has been another blunder by you friendly local idiot.

OK. WotW aliens appear and within a few days have eliminated many major population centres, neutralised much of the militaries and have cultivated large swathes of red weed.

Even from the new DotD, it takes several days for the zombie epidemic to ramp up. The first scenes in teh hospital the day before Z-day show that the epidemic was already present and spreading long before people recognised any real threat.

So, if I get 12 hours BEFORE the epidemic starts, then shit, it will be another week most likely before a Z-day level outbreak... Which means I have ample time to get set and go camping/boating.

I admit, 20 days is too long for the WOTW scenario. In under 4 days there was nothing stopping them globally and they already had Red Weed and harvesting machines abundant. In twenty days, the globe will easily belong to them and any additional steps in the plan underway since I doubt the fighting machines were the entire invasion force.
