I'd like to keep a certain amount of accuracy with my Vampire Fic...

How long would a young woman (fully human, at that point at least) last after suffering 2-3 stab wounds to the chest and abdomen (piercing the intestines only) and being raped by a 6'2 man... she's in peak physical condition (minus wounds), albeit drugged by a common date-rape drug used in the mid-eighties.

Her physical attributes are as follows:
5'6
She's of an ideal weight...

It's been about an hour after she recieved the stabbing wounds...

How long does she have left? Or is she dead already?

First of all, the height of the man raping her is somewhat irrelevant - I'd be more concerned with a weight-lifting, body-building five-footer heaping physical abuse on a person than, say, a six foot tall pencil-necked geek. There's more to male menance than mere height. So think about that.

About those stab wounds - if she's stabbed in the chest, well there are no intestines in the chest. So get it clear in your own head what's going on here.

Now, belly wounds - so much depends on where, exactly, the damage is done. You can be stabbed a dozen times in the gut and, if no major blood vessels are severed but your intestines are it could take three days to up to a week to die. In agony. Horrible agony. On the other hand, a good nick of the renal artery and you bleed out in mere minutes. Get the descending aorta just right and you're looking at seconds - and a geyser of blood. Seriously.

I'm not sure what her weight has to do with all this.

In other words, I'm not entirely clear on what's supposed to happen (other than a rape/murder) in this hypothetical scene. Care to be more specific?

You sort of missed a part.

All I really want to know is: Would she last long enough to be turned into a Vampire... since if you'd read my fic... she's saved from a rapist by non other than: A Vampire.

And I was going to make it that her wounds were on the edge of critical, and he had to turn her into a Vampire.

Unless the person missed every vital organ in the chest area...she's dead.

Given she's been lying in a pool of her blood for an hour.
