Seems like yet another good episode in a strong season.

I had a feeling that something bad was going to come of this, whenever they bring out the big guns it only makes the situation worse.

Damnit, I wanted him to say "Hallowed are the Ori," in the Goa'uld voice.

Too bad he did the usual betrayal thing. He could have been fun for a bit.

I liked him, I was sorta hoping he'd hang around for a couple episodes.

Hrm... are they using the planet's mass to build ships or something?
Wait no... that's just a really big stargate, oh boy...

Yeah, how terrifyingly awesome would it be if she came back as a Prior. I think she probably will. Which raises an interesting reocurring point, all of Danial's girlfriends, or any woman he has sex with or gets attatched to in any way, turns out to be evil, gets turned evil, or gets killed.

The Prometheus takes a direct hit that takes out a Jaffa Hatak.

What does that say about shield energy in SG? Assuming, of course, the Jaffa actually raised their shields. they certainly aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I figured Nerus' angle all wrong. I thought he was getting SGC to take out a planet full of Free Jaffa, blow up the Ori (the next big threat to their power) and get a scouting report on Earth's best weapons and tactics.

He simply sold outo the Ori.

And I wonder what would have happened if the Jaffa on the planet that decided to stab the Prior or beat him senseless instead of using the staff weapons.

Actually, that wasn't a 'direct hit'. Close, but from what I saw it basically scraped the shields, may have brushed the ship itself.

And if the Ori are capable of building stargates 300-400 metres wide, and converting planets into singularities...
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

Did anyone notice that the actor playing Nereus is the same actor who played Nero Wolfe in the A&E mystery series? He was also in the Raoul Julia classic "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank."

I'm still really hoping that the Ori wanking will be broken up in some way. As it is they seem way to strong.

The problem is that we haven't even seen the Ori yet. If the priors are so goddamned uber on their own, its going to take a dues ex machina the likes of which the universe has never seen to take out the big guys.

The Ori have been seen. They can not directly interfer. The most they do is provide knowledge to those they demand follow them and those who believe will be aided to ascend.

Hmm Deus Ex Machina... like if the already established community of ascended beings finds out that cousin friends the Ori have not been playing nice and decide to get off their lazy asses and do somthing? Oh wait, it's not Deus Ex Machina if the element is already established. Still it would be a bit too close to how they tied up Anubis. As we've already seen in this episode, the Priors (and one must assume the Ori) are immensly powerful, but that power can be turned aside if one merely finds the way. So I think that once our heros get their heads together, they are going to start finding the Achile's heel in Prior technology, allowing them to thwart the Priors and, more importantly prove that they are not all powerful or Godly, just extremely knowledgable con-men.

I guess what I'm really trying to get across is this. When the Replicators were first introduced, they were very powerful, but not invincible, they could be fought against with some hope of at least temporary victory. They were slowly ramped up to the point were it was no longer possible for them to be contained by any available means, and then here comes the all powerful Ancient device that wipes every last one of the little bastards out. Then here come the Ori, an obvious attempt to one up every prior villian in Stargate. you can't kill them, you can't bargain with them, and you cannot refuse what they offer without getting killed or at the very least marked for death. I'm worried that to defeat them the writers will just press the reset button again.

Anyone catch how powerful the Mark 9 Nuke was? I had to go to the bathroom, but remember that it had a range of 100 Miles.

Carter stated multi gigaton. Its not necessarily the most powerful weapon they could produce, but I think its the most advanced of the big designs incorperating new technologies to make it as small as possible. Anyway, this gives us some important information. It was stated to be a Gate Buster, so that gives us information. It also was stated to vaporize anything within a 100 mile (I believe it was mile) radius. Anyone who can provide that exact quote and we might be able to begin calculating. Its certainly very big, but I suspect under the 100 GT threshold.
