Weird leftover temporary internet files

I'm using IE on XP, and occasionally I flush my temporary internet files to conserve space. Yet when I open an attachment picture from email, and it opens in an image viewer, I scroll to other images from sites that I had visited eariler, though it should all be purged already. Does "delete files" in IE really work? Where are other temporary internet files/cache files located?

I think you have to check "Delete All Offline Content".
