Best/Worse Troops in Sci-Fi

How about them Imperial Royal Guards? I mean, they are supposed to be the best of the best Stormtroopers...they must kick even more ass. Tho I suppose they may have lost their touch in guarding that senile old fool...

What about the Imperial Sentinals? Its apparently, what happens when the Imperial Royal Guard are given a WH40K-esque "Space Marine" treatment with all the upgrades.

I wouldn't call Sentinel Guards 'troops'-- more like a *very* select Special Forces-ish group of bodyguards. If you're referring to the Imperial Sovereign Protectors, same goes for them.

The base members of the royal guard (red cloacked guards that Yoda pimps) are supposed to be able to fight jedi (one of the best of them- Kir Kanos can even deflect blaster bolts/ dodge bolts).
However the very best guard are taken for special training with Vader and have force powers, making them very powerful.

Can I say the Custodians as of the Horus Heresy? I mean, they were an actual army, and are what you get when you stick 'super' to the front of Space Marine.

Failing that, the Sons of Horus (with Horus at the head, of course). Who took the most world's in the name of the Emperor? They did.

I could say the ACS, but I don't particularly like them.
