1- Mechas are vulnerable to 120mm 'machine guns'. The absence of recoil indicates low velocity- hardly up to the performance of a modern 120mm or 125mm main gun. Sorry, mechas lose. This has been repeatedly pointed out and they keep dodging it.
You know, I pinted out at least once in the previous thread that the guns did have recoil, even with a recoil-dampening system on the guns.
2- A mecha withstood a 175mm 'high velocity' round at point blank. It doesn't matter what the 'fluff' calls it, because it can't have been very high velocity or very heavy if it couldn't bull through armor that a low velocity 120mm 'machine gun' can.
Actually, the Gundams could take the 120mm guns pretty easy, except at close range. At least, the Ground Trypes had that disadvantage. trying that against the RX-78-2 only got Amuro mad.
3- A mecha is a MUCH bigger target. The notion that a Mecha could snipe at a 2m tall target from 10km away is utterly ludicrous and devoid of any common sense. If it did hit, it would have absolutely no effect on the T-90s ERA and composite armor. In any scenario the T-90s will be firing earlier and will hit more often.
Now you're just being stupid. We've already proven better range and not only the ability to snipe, period, but also the ability to hit a smaller target(like a mecha's arms)
4- the armor is 'super tensile steel'. Which sucks. Not a chance in hell of withstanding a modern APFSDS round (tungsten or depleted uranium), and going by height to weight ratio it is much thinner than the frontal armor of any modern generation tank.
You know, it only says "steel." That means it's an alloy. Nothing else about it is given.

It's not our fault mechas are a stupid idea.[/quote]

Um... or not. You see we have had several mech vs. tank debates over at SB and in every one the general conclusion is that mechs are shit...

Two points:
1) The guns do not impart sufficient force on the mecha to indicate a high, or even transonic velocity, unless they are firing an exceptionally light shell.
2) The recoil-dampener will do JACK SHIT to the force exerted on the mecha. The exact same force is exerted onto the mecha. The best that a recoil-dampener can do is to stretch it, such that the recoil doesn't land all at once.
Actually, the Gundams could take the 120mm guns pretty easy, except at close range. At least, the Ground Trypes had that disadvantage. trying that against the RX-78-2 only got Amuro mad.
It depends on the series. In 08th MS Team, 120s ripped Gundams up reasonably well. And remember, we're talking about Zakus, not Gundams.
Now you're just being stupid. We've already proven better range and not only the ability to snipe, period, but also the ability to hit a smaller target(like a mecha's arms)
Hitting a target suspended hihg in the air, which was motionless IIRC, is very different from hitting a 2m wide target, which is probably camoflauged. Remember that just spotting the target is half the fun.

Steel is a well-defined term. It's iron with carbon hardening it. Since it's high tensile steel, that means it has a slightly higher concentration of carbon than the norm. (or is it lower? I forget)

Sorry for replying so late.
Thanks sir natram.
Some people (shep) don't realize its a fucking cartoon. It isn't going to follow every fucking rule of physics. They don't have fucking physics professors saying a transonic round would knock the mech down, or that its would make everyones ears bleed. It has however been pointed out multiple times that the shells have velocities and ranges in excess of twice yours and the only excuse you make is that it violates the laws of physics. Guess what, so do gridfire, turbolasers, blaster rifles, hypermissles and euchnaurch(sp?) drives. So shut the fuck up and stop whining you fucking tanker crybabies. You lose if you don't keep crying it violates the laws of physics so thats what you do. Suspend disbelief and GROW THE FUCK UP.

Another pitiful cry from a defeated mecha fanwhore.

Maybe you can understand this. it looks like it was drawn by something

Lock the threads will ya?

We've concisely defeated in detail EVERY SINGLE POINT the mecha
side has put forth, we've driven their mecha from the battlefield,
and in general, kicked their fucking asses into next year.

This thread (and the other one) has no further point, so can a mod
please lock them both down?

So shep, according to you the entire premise of Mr. Wongs site is wrong as suspention of disbelief is a "pitiful cry". That sure is nice of you.
In response to you other point. When? I've seen a lot of "they sink in the mud" which was handily defeated by the fast and hovering(hovering not slowly flying like you make it out) Dom. You say transonic rounds violate physics, as I and SitNatram pointed out, so do lots of common Sci-Fi weapons, as for anything else you have shown no numbers, just a lot of concession accepted picture, well I accept you concession, you have failed to make a single reasonable point at why the Zeonic mecha should have any trouble dispatching the tanks with only moderate losses.
Please remember, this is a debate on non-exitant things Vs. existing things. The gundam fans don't have all the numbers but you have failed to prove to anyone but youself and sea skimmer, who was biased to begin with, that your tanks pose any reasonable threat to their mechs. All you have done is act like an ass and spew out the same repetative arguments again and again. You are begining to remind me of a certain other debater that used to post (cough, DarkStar, cough)
