GTA:SA question.

Post by Enigma »

Do the corrupt cops get whacked in the game? Or do they succeed in keeping CJ as their bitch?

You only get to directly kill Pulaski though. Tenpenny kinda offs himself I believe (haven't played "End of the Line" so not sure how his fire truck takes a dump).

GTA: SA was a kickass game. In the end, Tenpenny basically is chased off a road and kills himself in a car reck, so it isn't entirely free of your intervention. ;)
So long, and thanks for all the fish

nope. Never saw that happen.

Some tips if you are having bugs/crashes.

Run it in win98 compatability mode - increases stability like you wouldn't believe, I had crashes every half hour and entering a building was a game of Russian Roulette with a BLACK screen o death, when I put it in win98 mode I didn't have a problem for the rest of the game.

Run it in "windowed" mode - apparently gets you better framerates. Who knows what else.

You can look around for the patch that supposedly fixes several of the problems (like the cars blowing up yet still being shiney, all cars being dirty no matter what, etc.). It also disables the Hot Coffee mod, naturally.

I'm not sure if it'll affect save games though.

Do I need to win the first mission for Cesar to continue the game? I've finished Sweet's\ Ryder's and Big Smokes mission and all I have left is CV.

Is he necessary to continue the game?

You need to do call of Ceasars Los Santos missions as well as a couple of his San Fierro missions. The only Ceasar missions you can ignore are the ones that come after you finish driving school in San Fierro.

Damn. I hate the first mission which that stupid race. I'd rather prefer it to be like BS last mission in Los Santos.

You have to finish that Cesar race so that you become friends with Cesar.

"Slow and steady wins the race."

It's an old saying, but it applies here. Also, get the Blade lowrider. It works very well for this.

What I've found disappointing with this game is that it isn't too much different than Vice City in regards to the graphics. To me it is an expanded version of VC. Can Rockstar PLEASE make the next game more visually appealing like not having blocks representing houses and then having the images drawn as you get close to it? Can they actually design actual buildings and houses instead of painted on blocks? Why did they removed the gatling gun? I liked it and now the weapon selection seems limited.

I liked the mod shop but I was hoping (I am still in Los Santos) that they'd be able to mod all the cars and some trucks instead of lowriders and an occaional sports car.

Good game though.

The minigun is still in the game. It just won't show up until later.

As to the graphics thing, supposedly it's a reasonably accurate potrayal of Los Angeles. So blame the city of LA. :D

You can mod most of the vehicles you find. The vans, pickups, bikes, and the big vehicles can't be modded, but most of the rest can (although what mods you can implement vary from vehicle to vehicle. Some almost aren't worth it aside from a controlled respraying, tires, hydraulics, a bass boost and some NOS).

Good game though.
SA wasn't so much an improvement on the way graphics look as it was an improvement on the way the graphics play in the game. Did you notice the complete lack of loading between sections? The sheer size of the game and how interconnected it was made the traditional means of loading per section impossible. Instead the game keeps track of where you are and preloads the maps nearest you while your playing in anticipation of your going there.

I meant the graphics as in how the game was made. I don't mind how LA looks like but at least they are not just blocks with doors, windows, bricks painted on. I would like the houses and buildings in SA to be like the real ones, yu know built brick by brick? Plus make the plants and trees really look 3D instead of 2D.

The game had to also (and mainly) run on a ps2, an obsolete hardware. There are strict limits on the level of detail achievable on that hardware, especially if you have to draw the whole thing in streaming to avoid loadings.

Ah. Then Rockstar should have made the game with the PC in mind then dumb it waaaay down for consoles.

BTW, was Catalina in any other GTA's?

They did. PC graphics are significantly better then the PS2 graphics.

She played a pretty major role in GTA3.

SPOILER: I know I was very happy in the knowledge that eventually she wound up dead. Annoying, screeching bitch.
