Sisko

Post by Darth Wong »

When the name "Sisko" goes into my spell-checker, it says it's not a word (naturally), and like most spell-checkers, it offers suggestions. So what does it think "Sisko" should be replaced with? "Sicko".

I just thought that was too funny to keep to myself.

EDIT: just FYI, it's the spell-checker built into OpenOffice 1.0

Not sure, I think it's actually Sick'o.
Whatever that means (I think in english you could pretty much add an 'o at the end of any adjective?)

I could be wrong. After all, I'm just guessing.

StarOffice 5.2's spell chuck gives 'Picardy' and 'piracy' for Picard, 'sissy' and 'Sask' for Sisko and 'January' for Janeway.

The latter replacement is rather appropriate considering Janeway's personality and the normal temperatures in January in this part of the world....
