Culture-verse is a literal utopia, even if I couldnt have force powers.

Yeah, like you'd get your hands on that one instead of being just an average peon on some world. Your custom title is indeed well earned.

Lets ignore the fact its a war torn universe without a moments peace... ;)
And lets ignore the fact you seeing the Millenium Falcon is just an unlikely event.

I'd take pre-plague Chasm City. Alaister Reynold's universe. Or barring that, the Angelmass universe written by Zahn.

How about A Brave New World? Would that count?

Certainly it's bizarre, but seeing as a prerequisite to living in it would be to have grown up in it, I'd probably at least think I was happy, because I'd be so brainwashed and doped up. Even if I were a dissatisfied Alpha Plus, they're not actually mistreated when their dissidence is discovered. I'd ask to go somewhere nice and tropical. To the Carribean, mon!

Star wars about 600 years before the clone wars, as far as I’m aware the clone war was the first major conflict since the Sith wars, giving me the advantage of living in the star wars galaxy WITHOUT a war were I’m likely to get shot and killed.

Whichever is the cleanest, best, nicest, highest standard of living with immortality and no issues allowing me to lay about and have lots of sex while playing games on my uber-wank PC all day. That one.

Cultureverse would be good, as long as I don't land in the middle of the Idiran war.

That would be The Culture.

And The Culture is my pick.

[shrugs]

There are plenty I think are cool, but I'm not sure I'd want to live in any of them. Eg, Star Wars & Robotech (intergalactic war); Resident Evil (zombies, mutant killing machines, evil corporations); Dark Angel (economic depression); The Matrix (nuff said).

Maybe I'll go with Robotech, provided I had the opportunity to hunt down and kill Minmei.
After all, this is completely straightforward. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm happy where i am but if i'm forced to chose i'll pick Star Trek. Earth seems relativly secure, replicators everywhere to cater to my needs and i think i'd do quite well as long as i stayed away from Star Ships and Holo Suites.

Holo Suites seem safe enough as long as you stick to holo-pr0n. That said, I'm largely forced to agree with Pounder for most of the same reasons. Nice and posh, even if there isn't any capitalism.

Definitely the Culture, Futurama is a close second though.

1. The Culture (Uber-Utopic paradise with lots of neat features)
2. Star Trek (Replicators + Holodecks = Good living, and with my modicum of intelligence I could become Grand Admiral/President in no time at all)
3. Futurama (Dinosaurs, exploding suns, acky fun locations, character shields and Suicide Booths = Good living(or dying))
4. Star Wars (Bzzt! Pow Pow! Sprat! *continues making fight-noises with his mouth*)
5. There is no #5.

Culture, although being top-notch in the Star Trek universe would probably be nice on Earth in terms of luxuries.

The problem with living on earth is the fact that every major or terrorist attack on the federation aims for earth, which doesnt have the defenses of it's 40k counterpart.
However living in the hiker-verse during the time of Magithrea's boom would be even better than the culture due to having a custom built planet  .

United Federation of Planets seems nice, up until your colony world is given to the Cardassians because your guys WON a war.

Seriously, what the fuck? I'd want nothing to do with a government that hangs its own people out to dry like that. Not to mention that holoprograms have a nasty tendancy of becoming sentient. Even with holoporn, now all of a sudden that holovixen you got tired of last month gets jealous and blows the damn ship up.

Stargate is relatively nice, if you could get into the progam. Otherwise it's pretty much just Earth as we know it (for now). Culture is the best for lap of luxury types, hands down.

However, overall, I'd probably have to go with the Edenists from Night's Dawn. Very cool societal concept, and not horrendously flawed like most "super cultures" in Sci-Fi.

Did you miss the part that said "for the galaxy’s richest men" you get to choice a universe (and probably a government with in it) but not you’re economic situation or anything like that.

Side not do you have to be human with in the universe.

Is there a choice about who, or at least, what species you get to be? It would truly fucking suck being say, a lesser caste Affronter in the Culture universe.

So you'd be a religious fundamentalist space viking who lives as a monk and dies ahead of his time?

Cultureverse, or maybe Brave New Worldverse if I want to be artificially happy. I suppose Culture is better, because at least there it's not just a chemically altered perception of the world.
