I'd like to point out that the OP makes one rule that doesn't apply in the reality of Star Wars

That nothing can heal Vader.

This is not entirely true. Vader never found a way to heal himself.

There were Sith Lords like Exar Kun that had completely purged the light side from themself (which was Vader's problem) that could heal with the Force without a problem.

Now, if that's what the OP meant, then, it depends on 2 circumstances
1- Do I get to keep my knowledge of Star Wars? If so, then the odds of me saying hell yes just went up, I know where to go to get the healing I want done. (Commenor; I'll go get the Sceptor of Ragnos, then screw the self-control)

2- When does this happen? Right after Anakin and Palpatine kill Mace Windu, meaning I have a chance to avoid it by taking a warship with me to Mustafar with orders to disable any other ships that come near the place? Right after Anakin get's sliced and diced? A New Hope? When?

However, under the literal constraints of the OP as it is, I'd have to say no.

I guess I'm a psychotic fanboy, cause I'd sign up.

Remember what the OP said, you are not tied to the movie timeline. You can do as you wish. I forget who wrote it, but someone wrote a fanfic about Vader joining the Rebellion and he took part of the Imperial fleet with him. I'd try something like that. Even if I only took a few sector fleets, that would certianly help out the rebellion. Plus I could start to make amends with my long lost children.

As for requireing the mask to survive, I'm not entierly sure that he is as dependent as we think. In ESB, when Captain (Admiral? I'm not sure at the moment.) Needa approched Vaders pod to report to him, the pod was partially open and Needa watched as the helmet was placed upon his exposed head. Plus in ROTS, Vader survived the surface of Mustafar, the trip to Corusant in an open med capsule, and the surgery with out the use of a breath mask. It seems to me that the mask is there to inspire fear and maybe to assist in his breathing, rather than a full life support unit.

Did you miss the part in RotJ when Vader asks Luke to take off the mask?

No, I didn't. But Vader had been injured by Palpys force lightning, and it could be prehaps that the assistance of the breathing mask was the only thing that was keeping him alive at that point.

It could be that the mask was required for him to live, I'm just pointing out certain scenes from the movies that seem to show that this may not be the case.

And if the mask is required to live, it is still a tempting offer to me.

I'd rather be Robocop. At least he's a (generally) accepted part of his culture. As Darth Vader, I'd be hunted down, feared, and hated FOREVER. Sure, the constant persecution would fuel my hate to keep me going, but hell, thats a waste of life.

His personal chambers are specially designed to behave like support systems in his helmet. He can't survive long in the open, period.

True, but in the scene in ESB, his chamber is open for Needa to see into and he is sitting there without his helmet on.

Given the speed at which the helmet came down and the aspects they showed in SoTE(Shadows of the Empire) he can survie at most a minute.

Not exactly a long time.

And it's Admiral Piett.

Been awhile since I've seen the movies or read SotE. My mistake I guess.

And I thought that Piett was dead by that time. Guess I really should go and watch the movies again.

IIRC, Piett survived to the Battle of Endor, where he was reduced to paste by an A-Wing ramming the Executor's bridge.

It was Ozzel who was killed at that time.

Oh hell, you guys are right. Needa was the one who lost the Falcon in the astroid field and was killed by Vader after personally apologizing, wasn't he?

I think maybe we're not seeing this in the right light...

Think about what Homer Spimpson said once, "THAT guy has a machine breathing for him? And here i am using my own lungs like a sucker!"

Well Vader has machines to not only breathe for him but also see, hear, feel and, most likely, digest for him too...and here we are wasting our time and energy using organs, like suckers!

If we were cyborgs, we'd have more time to do stuff while the machine took care of all that unimportant shit.

To be fair, you could make them replace your artificial limbs with more modern ones like the one Luke has. In no small part, the tormentful suit was created on Palpatine's orders, it is intended to be fearsome and, IIRC, a cage.

I could heal myself, assuming the OP specification to be unaware of the passage in SotE, assuming I've got the character to pull it off, and get realistic limbs. That said, I know I couldn't handle Vader's memories. At best I'll live a few years helping the rebels and/or knocking off Palpatine, but other than that, I'm likely to go stark raving nuts or commit suicide.
