Help: Can't download the damn validation tool from MS.

This is really ridiculous. I need to download to my friend's computer updates except I can't even download the shitty windows validation tool to get to them.

Here's the short rundown.

1. I am behind a linksys router and it's firewall is on but it shouldn't matter...I think.
2. This is a Windows XP SP1 that the computer is using.

If you need to ask any questions, please do.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Run Windows Updates.
Let the validation tool install.
Tools->Manage Add-ons
Disable LegitCheckControl.dll

Uh, I don't think you read correctly. It won't even download into my pal's computer through Windows Update.

When it has buttons for Express and Custom, paste this into the address bar and hit enter, then continue on your merry way.
