KOTOR 3... Wish list
Okay so we know KOTOR 3 will be/is being made. What would people want if they could have anything in the game.
Also which would you prefer...
1.) New Character.
2.) Revan
3.) The Exile
Or a choice between Revan or the Exile.
Personally I have to admit in my deepest dreams I would actually like two games/plotlines. The first you play the Exile following in Revan's footsteps trying to find him. Exploring the places that are unmapped trying to locate Revan. And slowly at the same time discovering more about this ancient threat Revan discovered.
The other would be as Revan finishing some long running plan and reading himself for the final stages. THis would really have to be something done after the Exile Plotline, where basically it's hoped you know whats going on and so can be thrown into the plot without too much exposition. At some point the two Plotlines overlap as the Ecxile at last joins with Revan. (With all the fun of that meeting, imagine a Darkside Revan and a Light Side Exile or vice versa)
What I expect... a New Character.

From a review of the two Towers.... 'As for Gimli being comic relief, what if your comic relief had a huge axe and fells dozens of Orcs? That's a pretty cool comic relief. '
While I would prefer to be Revan, my only real wish is for KOTOR3 not to suck, as it has a lot of potential to do so, since they have a number of problems/issues to overcome.
1) What Revan and the Exile will look like if you don't make/play as them. Imagine some stupid line of dialoge where you have to describe what they look like to determine this.
2) Leaving the SW galaxy for beyond the outter rim. They'll have to start inventing locations as they go along rather than using stuff from the EU and movies.
3) They might rush this game like they did KOTOR2.

Well yes KOTOR 3 not sucking is my main concern also but I assumed in my wish list that the game not sucking was well... taken for grantedTrogdor wrote:While I would prefer to be Revan, my only real wish is for KOTOR3 not to suck.
As it appears not I'll add 'They are allowed to finish the game before release'

-My favorite parts of KOTOR II were at the end, when you were an uber-powerful Jedi and you were able to tear through the opposition like tissue paper. I would have liked to walk through more than 1 level as a virtual demigod, so I think that they should maybe have more parts of the game like this.
-Bring back the romance options. I really liked 'getting the girl' in KOTOR I, and although there appeared to be hints of this in KOTOR II, it was never really fleshed out (which leads into my next wish)
-KOTOR III will probably be the last game in a trilogy, so it should go out with a bang, not a whimper. The 'ending' to KOTOR II was a major anti-climax and frankly, I was very disappointed. I hope whatever company produces KOTOR III is given adequate time to finish the game. I, as a gamer, would be more than willing to wait an extra six months if it meant that we get a real conclusion to the story.

I want to find out what happened to Dustil, Carths son. IIRC, it's hinted in KotOR I that he's alive, but Carth never found him.
Also, the HK plot should be tied up too, seeing how it got cut from KotOR II, it should be given some sort of resolution in III.

Dustil is actually at the Sith Academy on Korriban, and if you advance Carth's dialogues at the right times and so on, you can find him there. You can convince him to act as a republic spy there, for the light side

That's in KotOR I? Hmm, I thought I'd done everything I could in KotOR I, thanks for that, I'll have to go complete it for the 9th time now.

It would be nice if it wasn't as buggy as KOTORII. Some people complained about KOTOR being buggy but I never had a hard crash to desktop as I've had about a dozen times with KOTOR II or the getting stuck in the doorway error and the ally path finding that can be awful when you're trying to get at someone and Handmaiden just stands there in your way and you essentially have to switch characters to get people to move.
EDIT: Oh yeah and an idea I had was that they should have totally different branching storylines so if you go darkside you end up going to different parts of a planet or setting. So a lightside gaming experience is not just the same thing as the dark side one only you took the eeevvilll route, Instead it truly is a different game for you when you're a dark sider.

Oh, I also want to see how Malak lost his jaw, but I have a theory to that already, he was mouthing off at the real Sith, like he has a tendency to do in KotOR I, and they ripped it off. Although, that may be a little graphic for a 12+ game.

That would indeed be Fantastic. I'd also like some way to be sneaky towards your allies and party members. Some way of well, fooling them into thinking your one way when your really the opposite. Some way of Publicly doing Lightside stuff then going off on your own and reversing the situation, so that your companions think your a good guy, but secretly your a selfish bastard.Stravo wrote:EDIT: Oh yeah and an idea I had was that they should have totally different branching storylines so if you go darkside you end up going to different parts of a planet or setting. Because When I'm followed by the good characters in KOTOR at least I sometimes think, 'Why the hell would they still follow me?'

More intelligent darkside options than "Hello, completely unobtrusive and harmless person. I'm now going to kill you for no reason."
As for wrapping up loose ends of KOTOR 2, the indepedent Restoration Project is already trying to do that by modding unused content, including the HK-47 storyline and several actual endings, back into the game. Unfortunately they are not affiliated with LA in any way, so it's not official.
If there are recurring characters from the previous games, I'd like to see some recognition on their parts (HK-47 may be an exception, since he has a memory problem). If you walked onto your leader's ship and saw someone who you fought next to through Hell and high water just a couple years ago, you probably wouldn't mosey on by without so much as a nod.
I'm assuming KOTOR 3 would keep the influence system (though the Exile would be a special case), so I'd like to see your influence on your party actually have a significant affect on the actions of the members. If you corrupt the cute Jedi child, she's probably eventually going to like kittens a little less. If you redeem the evil destructive Sith Lord, he may eventually start liking kittens a little more.

I'd like it if HK-47 just got totally destroyed. Not because I don't like HK, far from it. I'd just love it if KotOR3 fucked over Galaxies like that. What can I say? I have a weird sense of humor.

Nah, they'd still put him in their crappy expansion, all it would mean is that it wasn't in any way, shape, or form cannon, not that SOE would care; Mandolorians on Endor, Geonosions on Yavin IV, Thrawn being a Captain, and being in known space between ANH and ESB, the list goes on.Trogdor wrote:I'd like it if HK-47 just got totally destroyed. KOTOR 3? They haven't even finished KOTOR 2 yet.....
More seriously -
- We blaster guys would like for ranged weapons to NOT be just this side of useless. Re-vamp combat.
- Enough of Force Powers determining alignment. All that should matter is actions.
- SUBTLE Dark Side. For fuck's sake, the ultimate Sith, Palps, is a charming master manipulator, yet Dark Siders STILL have to put up with having to take the "cocky young bully" approach of beating up everyone and mouthing off to everyone. Ugh.
- Resolve fucking hints. EVERYTHING is hinted at in KOTOR 2 - yet very little is resolved. Which I suppose leads to the next point....
- Give the game to a company that can tell Lucasarts where to stick it's release dates and hold the game till it's damned well ready.
- More reward for not going in and blasting everything. More XP for doing things the subtle way.
Personally, I'd prefer for this to be a sequel to KOTOR 2, with your character imported. The game needs a fucking sequel to tie up, oh, about half of itself. You configure what happened in KOTOR2 and go off to track Revan, for Light or Dark reasons. You never MEET Revan - not smart to define a character everyone defined differently in KOTOR 1 - but you meet the Hawk's crew and all....
This one needs to FINISH it. Tie everything up in a nice, neat package and make sure the story arc goes out with a bang. Nothing too ambitious, in other words....

I don't get this. This is a game where an uber-light Jedi can run around blasting away at the bad-guys with Force Lightning with no consequences except a greater drain on the force points than with light powers. Christ by the time you reach the end of the second one you can use whatever powers you damn well please because there's bugger all chance you'll run out of force points unless your character build is shittyness beyond description.- Enough of Force Powers determining alignment. All that should matter is actions.
^
Force Powers aren't evil. PEOPLE are.
If you Force-choke someone to kill them quick in the middle of a fight, I'd say that is real short of dark or evil. It's effective. And yet the game expects us to believe it's as eeeevil as doing so to find someone's lack of faith disturbing.
Right.

I would love it if they tackled the storyline how Legacy of Kain: Defiance did with two protagonists. You control them both on their respective storylines, which are both heavily related, yet only have them cross paths at moments of extreme importance.
And make Revan and The Exile duke it out. There can be only one

What I want in KOTORIII?
Gameplay;
Ditch the make an item function. I was a good try but I didn't like it. It created so many powerful things that it really made the money functions obsolete. Since I prefer the idea of buying my crap, I'd like to go back to that. KOTORII had so much available and so much lying around, that after Telos you really don't need your money.
Keep the character influence system. I loved this and it enabled you to 'customized' your party, well atleast the ones you used alot.
Start out as a damn Jedi. The first one made sense and you only stayed a non-Jedi for a short period. In KOTORII, damn half the game is over before you get a lightsaber. If you need a ' introduction' level, do it as a less powerful Jedi.
Plotlines;
Bring back Bastila and Carth. Saw the cameo on KOTOR II, need to work them in the finale. Whether you were light or dark, you should have history with Bastila so she makes logical sense to bring back atleast.
Resolve the damn thing, no hanging plotlines. Wrap it up and explain the Exile and Revan and the Sith Empire.
If you're going to have new characters, don't make a bunch of stupid ones.

They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

Unfortunately, I don't have Kotor I for the PC but have it for the XBox so, I'm unable to download the mod. I'm curious as to what were these "lost" endings supposed to be?Civil War Man wrote:

I'm not too sure as to what each individual ending will be. There will be multiple ways to kill off just about anyone in your party, though.EmperorSolo51 wrote:Unfortunately, I don't have Kotor I for the PC but have it for the XBox so, I'm unable to download the mod.
