Possible SWvsST book

Would it be possible for someone to write a book involving a SW vs ST cross over?

By using all the tech from each side, and changing names only to make it non-copywrite infringing, could someone create a novel dealing with SWvsST and get it published?

As in a paper back at Barns & Noble's, I don't think so. They're both owned by different companies so the legal bullshit would be aweful.

You guys aren't getting at what I'm saying.

I'm not saying have Lucas Books and Paramount write it, someone writes a book with two different groups. One is COMPLETELY based on ST, with names changed to deal with the legal shit, but with the tech all the same. The other group would be based COMPLETELY on SW, again with names changed to cover for the legal crap.

I don't think just changing the names is enough. If it is easy enough to tell that it is STvs.SW then I don't think it would be legal.

Actually, the law does allow you to do that if you're making a spoof. Since the only way the book wouldn't suck is if we're doing a spoof of ST, we only need to get Lucas's permission. And who wouldn't want a book that establishes once and for all that SW is more powerful than ST?

Another problem is that no matter how you write it, at least one side will be calling it "biased". It just can't happen, people just can't agree on some things. SW vs ST is one of them.
