I have approximately twenty tabs and one extension. Also, the current VM size is 585MB.

1.5 is out already? Well, damn. It feels like I just upgraded to 1.4 only a few weeks ago.
You upgraded to 1.0.4. 1.0.6 is the current version. They're going to skip a few numbers for the next release.
Meh, close enough. :P

One of my friends here has that exact same problem with his 1.0.6 FF. Maybe it's a crappy extension doing that.

86 megs w/ 10 tabs in window #1, 4 in #2, and 1 in #3, filled w/ actual content, not blank, no extensions (if you're running Linux, see resident memory column in top).

What the fuck are you guys doing with so many tabs open anyway? Deliberately trying to crash your machines? :D

"VM size" is more important that "Mem Usage" under windows

Does 1.5 show an increase in speed in loading pages that aren't stored in the cache?

Well pages certainly load faster. AFAIK, there's no mouse gestures mod for this version yet which is a bit annoying, but I'm sure one will be released soon.

You can hack Mouse Gestures to work for you again, but it's kind of annoying. Open up C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.<xyz>\extensions.rdf in Notepad. Locate every instance of "maxVersion="1.0+"" and change it to read "maxVersion="1.5+"." Most extensions will start working again, but some cause problems (Biobar, TabX, FLST and BugMeNot are the ones that had issues for me). No themes work properly for the beta except for the default one; if you force them into working via this trick, you'll suffer from missing scrollbars and an unusable config menu.

Gr... so unstable- 1.5 alpha was surprisingly *more* stable... I'm switching to 1.6 alpha (profile is b0rk3d, so can't downgrade, otherwise get grey bars).
