A question about imperial politics.

Post by Lord Revan »

OK was there any person, people or factions the felt Palpatine hadn't went far enough in his dest..err reorgazation of the Republic and to be "removed" for the stability of the Galactic Empire.

PS. And I don't mean members of the (future) Rebel Alliance.

Besides the Delegation of 2000, there were some (at least one of which will be chronicled in Republic #78 ) that kept their allegiance with the Republic, not the New Order.

What I'm looking for at are people are loyal the ideals of Palpatine and the New order, but are too extreme in their opinions and/or actions for the Empire (at least the Empire as it was during that time) and "had" to be eliminated so that the Empire wouldn't implode (like a premature Warlord).

Grand Admiral Zaarin from the TIE Fighter computer game and Grand Moff Trachta from Empire: Betrayal come to mind. Trachta was taken out by Vader, while Thrawn was instrumental in bringing down Zaarin.

Given that both wanted to TAKE OVER the Empire....not exactly what he's looking for.

He wants to know if there where any frothing at the mouth imperials who thought Palps was too warm and fuzzy. None come to mind however, Palatine rated pretty high on the frothing on the frothing at the mouth scale.

It actually is pretty close to what I want, as the internal struggle that would have been caused the take over attempts harmed the empire (even if in the they would have been unsuccessfull), I'm not sure weren't the missions against Zaarin (semi-)classifed. Remember I said to the (known) Ideals of Palpatine not Palpatine himself.

I'm not gonna claim that Palpatine/Sidious wasn't insane, but he's intelegent (that make's him even more dangerous) and knows (most of the time) when destroying something is counterproductive (after all he never officially bisbanded the Senate (it's bisbanded for duration of the "current crisis situation"(read:forever)).
