BTW is Amidala's ship smaller then the Falcon as it's definetly longer?

Can't say about the size of the ship, but it certainly looks a lot more expensive. Perhaps that's the real reason someone would think it has a cloaking device? It's been paid for by planetary pork barrel money.

How come we never see a cloak in Star Wars and why cant a ship that small have a cloaK?I read an article stating somewhere that the TIE Phantom has a cloaking device, and thats at least 6 times smaller than the YT-1300 class Freighter!
In the Super Duper Special Edition, Lucas will digitally add in a really annoying, nerdish Imperial who will then pipe up right after that line in a really nasal voice "But sir, what about the experimental TIE Phantom Fighters we were building, and Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator, and..." before he is dragged screaming offscreen and noisily eaten by an angry Dianoga that somehow got loose. The officer who said the original line will then give a (digitally added) smile, and the scene proceeds as normal.

Didn't Thrawn retrive the cloaking devices from Mount Tantiss?
Yes, but how did Thrawn know there were storehouses where the Emperor stashed goodies, which likely included cloaking devices? The TIE Fighter cutscenes show the TIE Defender being shipped to such a facility. Plus, it's implied by the cutscenes that Thrawn was aware of the existence but not the locations of secret storehouses, and they imply that since Thrawn had knowledge of the work toward creating cloaking devices that he could be reasonably certain that prototypes could be found in one of the Emperor's storehouses.
The RA2 cutscenes show or at least imply that Phantoms can see out of the cloak. By the fact that they move towards targets while cloaked and decloak to attack, this is shown or implied by the YT-1300 scene and the Rebel escape scenes. Plus, the fact that Sienar developed the cloak for Maul and the Phantoms implies some sort of relationship.
One explanation or theory I've heard though I can't remember where. Is that TIE Phantoms use stygium based cloaks, only when the facility that constructed was destroyed in RA2 the last stygium crystals were destroyed as well, which makes sense considering no one ever again tried to make more Phantoms and the fact that stygium crystals were extremely rare by the Imperial era. It could even be that the Phantom production facility was able to synthesize stygium crystals, and the ability to do so died with the facility.

Apart of the TIE Phantoms and the Sith Infiltrator, I don't recall any ships that shoter then 20 m and had a cloaking device and only ship that I recall that had cloaking was less then 100 m was Palpatines personal shuttle. And since Needa (the officer who says that line) is only a Captain, it's probable that he didn't know about the Infiltrator or the TIE Phantom program as for Palpatines shuttle it's special case (and while GL may have problems writing dialoge, a good thing is that he doesn't even try make something said in heat of the moment have all the possible information about said subject.)

Maybe such ships existed, just nobody ever saw them.
I know, that's awful, I couldn't resist...heh
fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1
