SG-1 'Full Circle' Question.
Just how fucking stupid is Daniel in this episode? Giving the Eye to anubis is the Worst plan in the entire history of bad planning.
Especially since moments before, he outline a perfectly acceptable plan: Tell The System Lords Anubis doesn't have the Eye, let them blast him out of the sky. No fuss, no muss, no forced descention. Everyone's happy.
Can someone help me figure why Daniel felt handing Anubis a honking big gun was a good thing?
(I forget, was this scene before or after they find the Atlantis tablet?)

Its way after finding the tablet.
One thing your forgetting.. the plan would have worked perfectly if not for oma's interferance.

The other plan would have worked perfectly and wouldn't have given Anubis, the superweapon (Daniel was fine with him having it as long as he didn't use it on Abydos) and had a much lower possibility of attracting unwanted ascended attention.Zac Naloen wrote:Its way after finding the tablet.

I can see no advantages do his plan over the other one and quite a view disadvantages. AFter all there was basically nothing stopping Anubis Hopping straight to Earth between "Full Circle" and "Fallen" and laying waste to Earth.

The System Lords would have wanted the eye anyway. After Anubis was destroyed, they'd fight over it themselves on Abydos, ruining the planet in the process.

They only had a small amount of light weapons, their job was to get in, get the eye and get the hell out, not try to fight off a Motherships worth of Ha'Tak.
If they HAD been planing on fighting, they would have brought a half dozen SG teams with heavy machine guns poking out from the upper and lower levels of the pyramid, dozens of stingers at hand outside, machine gun nests inside and a constent wormhole maintained to a secure fallback planet (not Earth of course).
Then on top of that, a Mark VIII Naquadah enhanced nuclear weapon sitting with a 3 second delay inside the ring transporter. When Anubis tries to ring troops inside the building, the timer is reactivated, the troops who ring in are cut down by a couple of M2's and Anubis's ship go's 'Boom boom'.

Not to mention, with Anubis' troops on the ground, they might decide to do bad things (tm) to the Abydonians if their master got smoked thanks to SG1.

And, as I think of it, there was nothing, barring the Asgard, to stop Anubis going and fragging Earth anyway. Hell, all that telling the other System Lords he didn't have it would do is give him a motive to blow up Earth when he escaped.

Furthermore, we would've had to destroy the eye there anyways. Think about it, if we had brought the eye home, Yu and the other systemlords would come screaming here and do whatever they could to retrieve it. Even if it meant wiping all of us out to get it. And thats if they didn't blow up the planet to prevent any other goa'uld from getting it.NecronLord wrote:And, as I think of it, there was nothing, barring the Asgard, to stop Anubis going and fragging Earth anyway.
