ADVENTURE GAMERS have been sorely maltreated in the last few years, with Lucasarts’ heyday well behind us and only a few pickings on offer. The immensely popular Sam & Max series has been threatening to make a comeback for some time now however, and after one canned attempt it looks like we’re in for another try.
Telltale Games has received the go-ahead to develop another Sam & Max game from the characters creator Steve Purcell, with them making the surprise announcement at the end of a keynote speech in San Francisco to the Future of Digital Entertainment conference.
The game Telltale are to develop will be completely original and has nothing to do with the canned Lucasarts Sam & Max: Freelance Police title which had been much anticipated by fans.
Lucasarts lost the rights to the series however and so creator Purcell, who was familiar with Telltale from their days together in Lucasarts, went to Telltale to answer the cries and shrieks of Sam & Max fans who have been signing petitions and begging for another game in the series. µ

Let a new adventure game come, and I shall know... that I am going to buy it and play until my eyes bleed .

That's funny, I have about three gigs of S&M on my hard drive and...oh wait a second, I don't think we're talking about the same thing.DEATH wrote: Especially since the original S&M crashes quickly on my pc.

I bolded the most important part of the article. This means that as long as he secured adequete funding and made a good choice in developer (I've never heard of them), we shouldn't have much to worry about. No idiotic executive is going to take this away from us.Mr Bean wrote:The linkIQ wrote: Sam & Max to return - official

I was rather hoping the original was going to come back. I only got to play a very, very little bit of it on my friend's computer...
