Most disappointing sci-fi revelation?
What was the one question you wanted answered and was let down the most by the answer?
Mine would have to be the origin of Unicron in Transformers. Here I was thinking he was the equivalent of God and the Devil (he giveth, but you belong to him forever if you make a bargain with him), and that he had been around for millenia.
And then I find out he had just been created by some stupid-looking scientist.
Any similar experiences?

Question: What makes Akira so great?
Answer: It's not.
Answer: It's not.
data_link has resigned from the board after proving himself to be a relentless strawman-using asshole in this thread and being too much of a pussy to deal with the inevitable flames. Buh-bye.
How true....data_link wrote:Question: What makes Akira so great?

Anyway, my own disappointment would have to be Battlesatr Galactica 1980...they finally find earth and it SUCKS. I was so let down by this show that I never watched a single episode after the first two EVER again, even on reruns.
Wherever you go, there you are.

Now I admit I haven't watched season 3 of G1, but where did yuo get this information that the cartoon unicron was created by a scientist?

See what i mean?
Kind of like how there was no Cobra-La in the G.I. Joe comic, and Cobra Commander was human. The comics are always so much better in regards to 80s cartoons.

The whole midichlorian situation is so... stupid.

Midiwhasis...and seeing Anakin for the first time as a whiny, loud 10-year old.
Have no problem him being a regular ten year old kid, have a problem that they are trying way too hard for something I have yet to feel for him.

Actually in the AOTC commentary, GL does state that this answers the question raised by Jay and Silent Bob about Death star contractors that dies...they were all termite aliens so who really cares? He says it in the scene in the war room with Dooku and the cheif Geonosian. I love this commentary its really pissing in people's ears about thingsIlluminatus Primus wrote:Been explained to death.Simon H.Johansen wrote:Hmm... hard question.

Hmmm.... I want to say the homecomings in Voyager, Titan AE, and Battlestar Galactica, but I think I have to say it's the B5 "We need to blow up the station because it would be a menace to navigation." They had B4 floating around for hundreds of years without any problems, and the manner in which the station's life ended was such a let-down.
