Starship Models: Wish time...

Post by Crossroads Inc. »

Real simple, Model making is not the huge industry it once was about 15 years ago... As such, the amount of SciFi models coming out is pitiful. So, what cool, spiffy, CGI or otherwise based SciFi starships would like to put together and hang from your room? Me?

Neo-BSG Galactica all the way, a good 2ft sized model would be killer.

I wish Bandai would quit concentrating on all these fucking Gundam SEED kits. Fuck, we're lucky we got a Master Grade Acguy at all this year...

Where to begin?

Just off the top of my head, I'd like to see, in injection mold:

EA Hyperion
EA Nova
SAAB Hammerhead and Saratoga
a second on the new Galactica

Probably more, but those are for starters.

Oh, and to have someone light a fire under the dipshits who bought out Polar Lights and buried the Trek line before it could fully develop. :finger:

A model of a Covenant Assualt Carrier would be quite something IMO.

I wouldn't mind an Ivan class System Control Battleship, or even better, a Doomlord class SCB, both of which are from Old Familiars on Omniverse Zero.

Or the Dahak.

I for one would absolutely love a 6 foot Super Star Destroyer.

I want Bandai to release kits of the other Enterprises... only, at the same scale as their 1/850 Ent-refit. 8)

I personally wouldn't mind a big ol' Discovery hanging from my ceiling, either.

I want to be able to make a kit of my own designs. That would fucking rock.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Well, if you've got a pattern and a lot of patience, you can go for resin casting.

FireFox for example is making a KickASS Re-modle of the Victory-SD. Can't find the thread though that had it's pics.

i'd love to have some farscape models hanging from the ceiling, or some generic rusty freighters.

The problem is I don't have any idea how to do anything of the sort.

This is the best I know of; don't know if he has the plans for public use though :P

I would love a model of the Phoenix from Battle of the Planets AKA Gatachaman. I've been looking but can't find one.

It would take some digging, but I've got some stuff somewhere around here if you're interested.

And LordChaos, there are resin kits of the Mad Dog, Timberwolf, and Atlas available (though I can't remember the company off the top of my head), and Ravenstar Studios has a Kit Fox in the works.
