Everyone, turn on STEAM and try running ANY source games, HDR is there, working on ALL source games.

Pretty!

Cute

Interesting, I read about this in THG, it improves blurs and light/particle shading by making it work in-game and cuts back on system resources right?

What parts of HL2 would it affect especially? (That I need to watch out for)

Gah, THG isn't the best source ;)

Lets just say(2nd hand testesmony) it looks amazing, even on a broken FX5700.

EDIT: better review of what HDR is

Oooh, time to replay HL2 to gauge it.

Neither HDR nor bloom work for me, and I have a 6800 which is an SM3.0 card. This is probably because the HL2 singleplayer and multiplayer don't have HDR maps yet.

BTW, those screenshots you linked to don't look any different from a non-HDR shot.

This update apparently introduces some bugs, and this has led to complaints in the Steam forums.

But really, I know bloom when I see it. If bloom and/or HDR is really working then the effect is so subtle that I can't tell the difference. I've seen bloom from Garry's Mod and other games - light will bleed over polygon edges and that certainly isn't happening here. HDR definately isn't working because I would see exposure effects, richer colors, and bloom as a side effect but that isn't here either, not even in the screens.
