Ganner Rhysode (i belive) Was able to fight off waves after waves of Vong, getting bitten by every freaking Amphistaff, he lived long enough to kill hundreds of Vong before he succumbed. Questions? And to say Quinlan shouldnt live all because he was "blown up and beat to a pulp" goes against everything SuperHero story. Spider Man is shot how many times, how many times does he get thrown across a street into a building and then get up. How many times does any X-Man get electricuted by Magneto. They all live. Many times Jedi have been given the title SuperHeros of Star Wars. if SuperHeros live after getting beat the hell up, blown up. Then so can Jedi. (im not saying they should im saying its nothing new)
Quinlan lives!

The thing is thought that Quinlan does infact survive the initial attack on the Jedi. But for how long? Thats why i created the thread to see if any of the SD.net users wanted to state their opinions. Now the first 3 issues of the series is a flashback of the events on Kasshyyk. The last issue the one i posted a picture of takes place after the apparent death of Quinlan when his ATTE is blown up in the Star Wars Episode III comic not the movie or book.
Now Quinlan should die, no doubts to that...right. But will he die
for those and including me to read the Tales issue that has Quinlan talking to Han when Hans a kid, really wants to believe it really happend. Well theres 2 outcomes to that.
1) Its Infinities
2) When i read that issue it seems to me that Quinlan is not really there. It seems like he is a ghost (Jedi spirit) that is talking to Han. So if thats the case and its not Infinities, Quinlan will die in what i belive issue #84 and comes back ~10 years later and talks to Han

It is clearly stated there that Ganner gives himself over to the Force completely early in the battle. As seen with others, like Dorsk 81 and Anakin Solo, willingly allowing too much raw Force energy to guide your actions is fatal (some higher level Jedi, like Obi-Wan could regulate this abandonment of real concious thought and become a Force conduit without dying, but they were rare.) Essentially, he was no longer a human, just an embodiement of the Force winding itself down. Besides, the real number of Vong killed is unknown, and up until the end, they weren't allowed to attack in numbers or use heavy weapons due to their being on sacred ground.Ganner Rhysode (i belive) Was able to fight off waves after waves of Vong, getting bitten by every freaking Amphistaff, he lived long enough to kill hundreds of Vong before he succumbed. But this is all beside the point. There is a diffence between a creature being "super powerful" and being "a super hero" in the sense your using. I have powers no ant could imagine, but that doesn't mean I can survive something that would kill any other human.

fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1

As if we didn't have enough problems with Quinlan Vos, an even worse fear, some incarnation of Thrawn is in "The Unseen Queen".

Yeah, a computer simulation that Alliance commanders play against; mentioned only in passing.Darth Fanboy wrote:As if we didn't have enough problems with Quinlan Vos, an even worse fear, some incarnation of Thrawn is in "The Unseen Queen".

That was only just a simulation in the last few pages of the book? Gods I need to reread that section tomorrow.Ender wrote:Yeah, a computer simulation that Alliance commanders play against; mentioned only in passing.Darth Fanboy wrote:As if we didn't have enough problems with Quinlan Vos, an even worse fear, some incarnation of Thrawn is in "The Unseen Queen".

EDIT: At the end, where they kept referring to him in full name, that was a simulation?

Are you talking about the fucking preview of Outbound Flight, a book set in the OR era? And you thought, despite the big page that says preview and all the damn adds, and the fact it came after the end of the epilogue that it was still part of TUQ?Darth Fanboy wrote:That was only just a simulation in the last few pages of the book? Like I said in the other thread, I haven't actually read it, I only skimmed through a few pages.

I'm all for some of them surviving, basically because Darth Vader should be more than a cowardly little pussy whose achievements in attacking the Jedi Order, as depicted filmatically are killing kids armed with non-lethal lightsabers, killing apprentices with the support of hundreds of clones.
Oh, and making Obi-Wan out of breath.
It would be much better if he actually does, Y'know, kill some jedi masters in 'fair' fights.
Though this Vos character does sound like fanwank of some sort.

To be fair, he does kill Dooku singlehandedly. That accomplishment sets a high benchmark.NecronLord wrote: Oh, and making Obi-Wan out of breath.

Anakin wasnn't kileld by a thermal detonator. There was a body. He was stabbed through the stomach by an amphistaff and died becuase he didn't let himself go into a healing trance so as not to slow the jedi strike team down. You are correct, I did not recall the incident correctly. It makes sense, if he really had been in a Thermal blast, there wouldn't have been a body left to recover.Anakin wasnn't kileld by a thermal detonator. There was a body.
