Right, now that that's done with - this game is shaping up to be quite something else. It looks great. It runs beautifully on moderate systems. The gameplay is as awesome as ever.
Things like the dynamic chatter system appear to be working perfectly. The AI is good, the new health dynamic is great. It looks and sounds just as intense as the original...
Its beautiful - so beautiful. Fuck DoD (especially seeing as how I have to PAY for it despite forking out ~120 bucks for HL2...), I'll just spend my money getting CoD, which also gives me sweet, sweet singleplayer.
Call of Duty 2 demo.

Still a game on rails. Enemies seem more bullet proof than before(Multiple rifle shots to the face to kill some enemies yet Thompson fire seems to be 1 shot one kill)
Still the problem of respawning enemies(Gdamn it if I toss two frags into a Mg'ers window and they go off under his feet that gun should not be remanned in four seconds just because I have yet to get to spot Y)
But it plays nice, very action oriented and the ironsites are much improved.

I found it a little less on-a-rail. If you look around a little you can usually take a couple of different routes to get to your next objective, which is better than before. There are ofcourse still the big set-piece events like the docks that you can only go through one way but they are impressive enough it doesn't really matter.
I really didn't like the health system though - I got hit so many times the first time I played through and it just felt wrong that I was still going none the worse for wear seconds later. That system just encourages you to charge in somewhere even though you know you'll get hit.
Also - the Bren gun is now the wrathful God of infantry battles it should be, which makes me happy as in the original CoD they seemed to make it some sort of glorified sub-machine gun. You still can't deploy it though (as far as I could tell).
