Seperatist / Confederate Ships Catalogue

Post by Nieztchean Uber-Amoeba »

Is there any place whereing I can find a (relatively) comprehensive catalogue of known Separatist ships, including general assessments of their relative strength and armament on the web, and is there any such resource on the web? If any one could provide or even make up one, I would be quite grateful for the help (I'm making a little fan-ficcy).

Just check out the Star Wars databank and scour through what vehicles they have there. That's what i've been using for my own fiction. It might not be as complete as you would want but it does give you a good variety of canon craft to work with.

Heh, the Star Wars Wiki has a bigger catalogue, but most entries aren´t deep on the "relative strength" issue.

for relative strength

it is said that Providence-class Destroyers can "easily" handle Venerator-class Star Destroyers, and probably Victories also

one Venerator can deal with 4 Recusants, 1 victory can take down 6 recusants

It takes a "flotilla" of Venerator-class Star Destroyers to take down a Lukrehulks' shields

Maybe one Munificant can deal with a Venerator or victory, if they manage to fire the 2 front cannons with maximum charge (they can pierce a 10-km wide defense station)

it takes 1000 recusants to take down a mandator-II

Munificents in lower numbers oculd to the ame amount to Mandators, they're big, and easier to hit

Where does it say this?

I believe the ICS had it going the other way around. 4 Recs: 1 Venator, 6 Recs: Victory

Is not the Victory more powerful than the Venator? sure the Venator is larger, but so much of its interior is taken up by hangar. . .

No where, as far as I know.
one Venerator can deal with 4 Recusants, 1 victory can take down 6 recusants

The ROTS ICS says that it takes 4-6 Recusants to take on a Victory or Venator, implying that the two Star Destroyer classes have approximately the same fighting ability.

right. the Victories are more designed for space combat, Venerators are more of a Starfighter carrier, thoughstill good in battle. SPHA-T turbolasers in the Open circle armads warships might change that.

It doesn't come from anywhere, because it's not true.

No. In fact, many EU sources say the Victory excels at bombardment, but is lacking in space combat. WOTC explains that the Victory's primary weapons are 80 large "assault" concussion missiles (only 80 missiles, retconned down from WEG's claim of 80 missile tubes) that are designed for attacking planets, but are difficult to use against ships. Also, the ROTS ICS implies that the Victory and Venator are equal in fighting ability.

Yes.

And the text says 4 to 6 can outgun a venator or a Victory, implying to me its 6 for the Vic. This is supported by the fact that 6 Resucants is 4.6*10^24 watts, and by scaling the reactor on the Vic you get 4.5*10^24 watts. Therefore it ourguns it, but not by much.

Victory is more powerful.

It said or, which means the 4-6 statement applies to either of them.

4.7 Recusants would have an equal reactor-output to a Venator.

6 Recusants would be the upper limit for the power of the Victory.

Just double checking... According to Wars canon now, a Victory IS More powerful then a Venator, right?

According to the ROTS ICS, I think they were equated as roughly equal to each other. Though probably with certain pros and cons for each ship.
