Blasted brain...her screw attack, which grants her some invulnerability and has her able to attack...that and she has superior speed(has that super boost at times.)

True, but what does all this fancy shit do for her? It's all well and good but you're just rattling off abilities. Show me how this would allow her to survive or kill the Master Chief.

They can't all be gems. ;)
But as for the two...it more that she can attack without weapons as well(the wholattack...while seemingly pointless does grant her an odd invulnerability, as well as her various others.
Right, well, that's a toss up. *dons punning armor for any anti-pun retaliation*
And I understand for comic...though with Prime...oi...playing her in First person is outlandsihly nasty...gah
Wouldn't know, but details would be nice. ;)
And I still say if weve her that...MC should get a tank...I mean she gets 101 weapons :P
101 weapons?

Okay maybe not 101...but she's rival most except persay Mega Man(my god what is his arsenal up to?!)

For the first person woes...think of playing Quake...in near mud at times(but you enemies are not hindered), and having to play tarzan at times...seriously it's addicting and insane at times...and when a big bad mama gets pissed and looks as you as chow...you wish and curse for a better strafe running.

Hotfoot, I haven't played Prime (or Fusion), but Metroid, Metroid II, and Super Metroid all placed such emphasis on precision jumping (off platforms, off walls, in mid-air, etc.), that Prime, being 1st person, would have either had to get rid of jumping, ruining the continuity and slaughtering the Metroid feel (how's the music, by the way? That was so key in the old-school Metroids), or make you jump in 1st person, which is usually a severe exercise in futility. So, I'm guessing that's why it's so gah.

Fusion is much cloaser to traditional Metroid.

Prime's music is so very nice...really.

The blah is really the fighting...the jumping is actually quite good...amazingly enough, but the fighting is really nasty. Given that now you're in first person you have to compensate for the need of jumping platform to platform with that...you cannot just strafe...or you will die...quickly

It's not a hijack! Ghost Rider and I are just discussing the theory that, uh... Master Chief would win... because... uh... Samus's brain wouldn't be able to control her body! Yeah, that's it. They'd start fighting, and then Samus's brain would be all, "Gah! This is like playing Quake in the mud. I can't strafe! But I can jump? Gah!", and then she'd go into convulsions.

Samus can take a Lava dip and take no damage. None. Her shields don't even notice it.

Does any of MC's weapons hurt more than a lava dip? I'm talking TOTAL IMMERSION here at deep depths.

I don't know about the plasma weapons. Might or might not have enough energy/ And depth doesn't matter too much in laval as far as heat is concerned.

But what about slug throwers? He's got plenty of heavy weapons. from pistols to rocket launchers. Those might well punch threw her armor. It's KE rather than thermal energy.

those missiles and super missiles couldn't possibly anything better than modern chemical explosives. The power bombs are nearly identical in size and explosive effect to your average sw thermal detonator. her beam weapon is comperable to her missiles. However, her shielding is incredibly impressive. I don't know what kind of weaponry they have in halo, but it'll take a lot to take samus down

First off, I don't see how MC being the better soldier is revelent to this debate. Maybe which one is the better fighter, yes. But not the ability to work in an army. As far as better fighter goes... we don't know enought in a more realistic setting like a novel how her combat skills are. But she has had more experence at combat and was hired by the goverment for these jobs... So I'm thinking she is all around a highly skilled operative.

I think she wins. She just has far more firepower and verstile. And doesn't she have a wave attack I vaguely remember that goes though armour?

How many missiles can Chief hold, how many can he take? How many missiles can he take. How many missiles can he take that are powerful enough to shake Samus surrondings, including deep underground re-enforced metal structures. Samus's armor was made by a civilization that had advanced technologicly to the max, relized they could go no further, so they decided to take a passive role in the universe and just observed, they saved Samus as she was a child after her colony was destroyed by and ass pirate, err space pirate raid, gave her armor that acted like a second skin, giving her great protection with out affecting her agility, and infused her with Chozo(the fully advanced race) blood, increasing her strength and speed. She is the best bounty hunter in a galatic civilizaton. But enough of the name game.

Again, how resistant is Chief to missiles, Samus can take about 20 of her own super missiles(a boss in SM can catch and throw them back at you, probly is more, they do less than a Energy Tank of damage to Samus) Her gun fires 3 shots that can go through walls and are designed to penitrate armor. Samus's visor gives her the ability to scan enemies' weak points and Infrared that could allow her to spot Chief through trees and hit him with the wave beam(since it can skip through walls). How fast can chief fire missiles, from fusion I counted about 3 a second for Samus. She can survive in magma. She can carry over 200 missiles. She has the ability to completely regenerate her self with about 11 super missiles and 10 super bombs by letting them off and sucking them back in.(secret in SM) Unfortunately I don't know much about Halo so...

The second time you fight a Chozo stature to get the screw attack. Well it's not a Chozo, it's called something like a Tollan. If you fire a super missile at his hands he'll catch it and throw it back at you.

Hmm, I'll have to try that out some time.
