Oh God, Blacktron rules over all. Especially my older brother's (obviously) inferior M-tron army. If they brought back the Blacktrons and M-trons I would go apeshit crazy at my local Toys'R'Us and buy out the entire stock. Space Police are also cool. I beleive my first set was the colonial era bluecoats, followed by Space Police. But it's hard to remember, being so long ago. A return of the old sailing ships with their crews of blueshirts and redshirts (with the occasional pirate) would be almost cooler than a return of Blacktron/M-tron/SpacePolice.
The problem with lego is, as has been mentioned, that they are using so many prebuilt parts. You buy a kit today and snap together thirty peices, whereas in their mid-nineties heyday the same model yould take fifty to sixty pieces, all of which could be turned into something way sweeter. And their original series aren't as creative as they used to be-"oh no it's the... Bionical?" THough to be fair, they've managed some pretty impressive ships-stuff that wouldn't have been physically possible ten years ago. And their audience is jaded by video games, which makes it harder for them to be expeceted to concentrate on completing a diificult model, no matter how cool it would be when finished they can get instant gratification with Grand Theft Auto 7: Time Traveling Militant Carjacker.
And in response to another comment, I have the Sopwith Camel, and its wings sag horribly and are in constant danger of falling off. So, as afar as I know, all the fancy detail models are very fragile.
Lego officially rocks

That reminds me, I've desired for many years to have a program that just lets me kick back, cut the crap and design something using a bottomless bucket of lego parts.
Right now the closest thing they have is that "Lego Digital Designer" "game" that lets you order the parts online to build your project. But it's SO LIMITED. Even the "sets" in there expire after a few months!
This is lame. I know they want you to just buy buy buy, but really, can't we just have a virtual playground and build anything in the virtual space you can build in real life? And if they still want to make money sell that program itself and/or put in the ability to order the parts to build it for real.
Most of us can't afford to buy all the Lego stuff we'd ever want to build the projects of our dreams. This isn't Warhammer for crying out loud! Let us have our dreams...

fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1
Someone asked me yesterday if Dracula met Saruman and there was a fight, who would win. I just looked at this man. What an idiotic thing to say. I mean really, it was half-witted. - Christopher Lee
