Samus Aran is in the same situation as Jango Fett was in, just jumped into the arena after Mace Windu. Of course, she has her armor.

First, the Super Bomb hits everything "on the screen" meaning it has a damn large AOE.

Second, forgive me for asking, but when has Mace Windu demonstrated the ability to create a shield?

Samus can fire three shots together (wide beam/spazer), with a firing rate of about 1.5 - 2 shots per second. This would make it far harder for Mace to deflect her shots with his saber. Her speed booster allows her to run very fast, nullifying the advantage of force speed on Mace's part.

Some calcs from super metroid:
it takes Samus 1.3 seconds to accelerate to her full speed with speed boots equipped.
her top speed is around 26 m/s
the super bomb doesn't really hit 'everything on the screen' as you might expect. If you use it in battle a lot you find that it has a more definite blast radius. I give it around ten meters, but that's not guaranteed accurate.
If she has the spazer, I agree that it would be very difficult to block all three shots at once. And spazer + wave? deadly. However, I haven't found her shots to be all that powerful in most situations. I mean, honestly, it takes several blasts with her regular arm gun to immobilize basic ground critters.
I think a super missile is her best bet here, and from what I've heard of Prime Samus is gonna get homing capabilities for her missiles now.
What I'd really like to do is get my hands on a copy of Prime and get real numbers for everything.

Everything in the arena dies. Samus armor was made by a race that had fully advanced technologicly, and so they just decide to observe the galaxy. It' fits on her like a second skin, giving her greatly increased constitution without decreased dexderity. She can survive magma temperatures, jump almost infinate distances.

Personally I believe her suit is protected by a body conforming shield, because energy tanks increase her strength, which wouldn't make much sense with more energy meaning stronger armor. Which could give her protection to a couple lightsaber strikes.

Now on to the fight, the spazer really does give Samus a edge, but let us not forget, unlike some games have portrayed, you can't deflect a missile with a lightsaber. Even if he was able to detonate them from afar via the force, he may not beable to detonate a lot of them, or a super missile just out of lightsaber rage should ravage his unarmored body.

Hmm. Does Samus get all the powerups (besides the endgame hyper-beam)? If so, I'd say jump, and then fire a Super Missile at Mace's feet.

Actually, according to text infomation from Metroid:Fusion the speed bosster allows Samus to 'travel at supersonic speeds'

In any case, if the Wave beam can travel through any substance on Zebus (Wave beam moves through walls.) I think it could go through a lightsaber.
ot to mention Samus could easily just use the freeze gun to turn Mace into a popsicle.

Plus if you allow Metroid:Fusion upgrades she could use a Diffusion missile to freeze everything in the arena.
