Fucking right you should run. The drivel that is modern Trek doesn't even compare to even TPM. Shit compared to The Final Frontier it's fucking shakespearian.

Oh and while we're talking about boring, how could anyone forget Star Trek The Motion Picture? Was it so boring that our minds purged all memory of it?

Hopefully, those who make the ST films did not forget TMP, because "those who forget history are doomed to...." oh, never mind.

On another note, is anyone surprised that Q never appeared in any of the TNG films? His wisecracks would have certainly livened up those snooze-a-thons.

I think Q would probably win, since he is supposed to be the closest thing to god there is in the Trek verse.
This is possibly the most disturbing passage on the Trekverse I have yet to read.

Care to elaborate why this is so disturbing?

Well, one can learn a lot about a universe from who its gods are. Do I need to go on?

Palpatine vs. Westley Crusher's peanut butter sandwich.

Result:

Palpy laughs as he stares down at the insignificant peanut butter sandwich. He contemptuously picks it up and takes a bite out of it. However, on the way to his stomach, the clod of clumpy peanut butter and spoiled jelly causes the Emperor to gag. Due to his decrepid body, his esophagous opens up, and the peanut butter and jelly mess plugs his throat and fuses to his flesh. Palpy chokes to death, and falls, dropping the wounded-but-still-deadly peanut butter sandwich on his chest, which sits there in triumph.
