I wish my graphics card could handle running at those settings. :(

I've been raped by Chaos Preds so many times now it's starting to feel good. None of the other factions build so many tanks so early (cept me, natch) and Chaos Preds pwn inf and armour. The Sentinels are so, so lame. But hey, the standard IG tank, of which there are billions, is a TIER THREE unit. So dumb.

To be honest, I thought the lack of vehicle upgrades was utterly retarded in DoR. There is now basically no vehicle customisation at all, and it's starting to make my teeth itch. There are times when I wish I had flamer sponsons, or Sents with something other than a lascan, but no. Every vehicle has to be used by everyone

I've never played on the 'proper' servers, so it's news to me that Eldar dominated back in DoR. What doesn't surprise me is that to 'fix' this, the devs have made all kinds of nuts changes.

I don't mind the Leman Russ being tier 3 even; but it shouldn't be behind yet another upgrade after tier 3 before you get it. And then another upgrade still, but that's a trivial matter compared to Full Scale War.

Yeah: I've noticed a lot of factions now have to get T3(which takes AGES), then do another tier-length research to get it, and THEN buy the ability to build at any given mech fac. I pity Eldar players who expect to see Prisms in any timely fashion.

Actually, whats with RTSs having a 'commandpoint' or pop-limit thing going on, but CAPPING it? Like you build mech facs to get more vehicles as IG, but there's no point having more than three or four because your vehicle limit hits a ceiling. 1 Baneblade and half a dozen LRs is about the maximum for IG, and that isn't many (considering the bloody Chaos bloody Preds kill LRs so easily).

YES! Got my own Internet connection working! :D Anybody up for a few games this weekend?

Edit: And does the Baneblade's coaxial autocannon actually fire? I've never seen it do anything, even with a multitude of targets to annihilate.

I have when my baneblade got swarmed by "da-boyz" it's main gun was blasting the squiggoth, wilst it's autocannons were damaging the swarm that was too close to shoot without damaging it's self.

The more I play skirmish, the more of a gripe I have. I used to be able to get long, drawn out, back and forth battles going on maps like Bloodshed alley while I had the AI on standard. Now, my team simply bulldozes the other team(assuming we're not all guard facing off against anything else....). Kinda annoying because I like the long battles.

He claims he's "noobified." More likely he's just plain nub. :P
it happens cause some players (like myself) are hardcore turtlers, and can't play well any other way, and DoW doesn't cater to us.

Not the bolters, the coaxial autocannon. You know, the smaller barrel on the turret next to the battle cannon?

Oh, and is anybody up for a game?

I haven't seen the coaxial do anything other than look pretty yet.

I have yet to see the hull-mounted demolisher cannon do anything either, although that might be because between the battle-cannon and it's Leman Russ escorts, my Baneblade is constantly moving.

Now what would be nice is if all hull-mounted weapons (like the bolter on anything using the Chimera chassis) that are already in the models were usable.

Yeah, well the Baneblade was advertised as having 11 heavy weapons, and if the autocannon doesn't work then it really doesn't have 'em.

As for the Demolisher:

The game ended right as it was firing, and I got this screenshot. It works.

A lot of times, though, it gets lost in the flash of the Mega Battle Cannon. But if you look closely, you can sometimes see the Demolisher still smoking after firing.

This replay pretty much sums up my issues with WA thus far.

Even TT isn't that stacked in the name of game balance, and at least that has balanced point values and army structure that must be adhered to...

Oh come on. Given numerical parity, how can you expect Space Marines to defeat IG? UHHHH MA GAAAWD. :D

It's pretty terrible. I've never been on the recieving end of the IG nade spam... it looks painful.

YES! I have discovered that I can set graphics quality to medium and turn on the full 3D camera without killing game speed! Screens shall be forthcoming. 8)

Whee. I got the game, the first new RTS I've got in years. And it's fun! And legit this time.

The Guard seem pretty fun, but they're hard to manage and seem to lack anti heavy infantry power, save squad plasma guns. Anyone up for a game? (I'm newb on playing it online) :P

Sure, I'm up for one. We can play 2v2 against the comp until you get used to it.

Just got done with the wildest game I've ever played. 52 minutes, lost one of my allies 18 minutes in. Killed not one, not two, but three Avatars. Lost a Baneblade, almost lost the second, but I eked out a win. :D

Sure. Want to play right now? I'm good for a couple hours; no class until 10:30 tomorrow morning. Username on the server is Rogue_9. I won't get on until I get an answer on whether you'll be there, but when I do, I'll pick one of the less crowded rooms. The first one is so full of idiots who'll jump in on every game in sight that you can't get anything done.

Let's set a time. I'll check now, if I can't find you, tomorrow then.

Oddly enough, the Guard seem to lack anti-tank firepower. No real squad rocket launcher equivilent. Just sentinels...

I'll get on right away.

Edit: I'm in Armageddon right now.

I'll wait twenty more minutes. The room is Armageddon. You switch by selecting from the drop-down menu at the top of the list of people in the room; when you log in, you should start out in Cadian Gate, which will be full of people. If you don't show up in twenty to twenty five minutes, we'll play tomorrow afternoon.

I'm switching back and forth between the board and the game chat, so if I don't answer you right away, wait a minute and I'll be back.

Aaaannd... I picked Marines, Rogue picked Guard. Result: I got my butt overrun by Hellhounds with little in the way of stopping it. Good round! I'll post the recording tomorrow to laugh at.
