Ok, after playing with the free account for a few months I finally upgraded to a paying account.

I'm wondering if anyone on the board still plays AO, and, if so, on which server, etc. Of course massive twinkage would be appreciated, but definitely not required.

Made myself a Fixer (Caroman) and currently farting around in TotTW at level 56 on RK1.

Oh, and to anyone else reading, I recommend downloading the game for FREE. That's right you can download it and play the full version (minus the expansions) 100% free. It's like Guild Wars, minus the $40 up front cost.

Oooooooooooooh no. I've got too many games I'm involved in already. :P Sounds like fun, though. Maybe some other time.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

Played AO for a year and a half. Made 200 with and Adventurer. 135 with my Trader and 112 with my Martial Artist. Had two hundred million credits to my name and a load of rares and ten full suits of decus of all stripes. Through respecs, all the expantions(Except Alien invasion.) Loved the talents, loved the settings.

And then relized that absoutly nothing was going on story wise.

Played from Most buggy MMO release in history until after Notum Wars and right up to Shadowlands. But Shadowlands increasing use of level limited content turned me off. One of the best things about the game was how you could squeese anything into a low level with the right about of math juggling. Sure it ment level 30s running around with level 100 equipment. But twinking was half the fun... Then they took it all away. Oh and they nerfed the @#$@ out of my Traders healing so it was so bad it might as well have been labled Sucide button.

The game was good while it lasted and I have alot of good memories.

But I've got some undead to smite now, Goodbye AO.

Level-limited content is the worst shit ever. A more transparent attempt to lock in stone the grinding bullshit playstyle I have never seen.

I mean, I thought MMORPGS were supposed to be about adventure, and maybe role playing? Levelling and getting better swords of antioch just doesn't do anything for me. :)

That was half the fun of AO was getting that "Portable Fusion Mortar" or "Sony Killstick" onto your little charater, still new to the world, bright eye and still filled with hope.

Then laugh with glee and watch as he oneshots everything his level. Ever better the game was designed so that weapons and armor did not make that great a diffrence in combat. (Except PVP which was 90% equipment, 5% Tatics, 5% Backup)
