The story of Creation (aka Genesis) may belong in a religion class, but Creationism (aka creation science) certainly doesn't.EmperorSolo51 wrote:I myself am a Theistic Evolutionist. There is really no need for it to be taught in a Science Class at all.

It's the conflict within that makes it so fun.Admiral Valdemar wrote:I hear Catholic schoolgirls are betterer.Galvatron wrote: I've seen lots of Christian MILFs (milves?). Corrupting them is half the fun.

True, but it seeing how far you can push that bit.Uraniun235 wrote:Wait, the way I heard it was that they could just turn around, confess their sins, and everything was all better.Ghost Rider wrote:It's the conflict within that makes it so fun.
Also for me their uniforms are nice, but it's in line with a variety of school girl uniforms, nothing particularly standing out. Though they are in the end a wonderful case study of the conflict of indoctrination versus primal need.

I hope you realize that this reflects really, really bad on you. You are not arguing for whether evolution is right or easy to understand with what you said. Quite the ooposite, when you are stating it is "obvious" and "can be observed by a 5 year old", you're more than likely creating the impression that you simply take it for a fact because you've always done so, without ever bothering to look at the arguments in favour and against it. Honestly, it sounds like what a creationist would say, only with the words switched out...18-Till-I-Die wrote:I'm a religious person, i beleive in God, but when i was...oh shit, maybe five...i understood evolution. I didnt know what it was called, but i knew what it was as in i understood the concept.
To be really clear: I am not doubting the conclusion in the least bit, only the way you support your argument and the way you (seemingly) _reached_ your conclusion. And by the little you said, it seems you employed the logic of the anti-science people.

So if it's for the good of humanity, you can do it.

Still one wonders how a survay like that would do over here.

I don't see why not, "christian science" is an actual sect of christianity, though creationism is an integral part of lots of evangelical groups, and should be remarked upon to some extent, as an outcrop of inerrancy dogmas and suchlike.Galvatron wrote:The story of Creation (aka Genesis) may belong in a religion class, but Creationism (aka creation science) certainly doesn't.EmperorSolo51 wrote:I myself am a Theistic Evolutionist. Have you checked up on the beliefs of the Christian Scientists recently? They may have a good newspaper, but...
I conducted a little straw poll on my commuter train -- a local sampling, to be sure, centered on the professional classes in a large city, and with a huge standard deviation due to small sample size:
How old is the universe?
5 don't know and don't care
1 didn't speak english
1 infinitely old
5 billions of years old
1 millions or billions of years old
1 millions of years old
0 thousands of years old
if we toss me in, the billions of years old tally gets up to 6.
Not that this means anything...
