For no apparent Reason, Godzilla appears in TNG Los Angeles. The Question is: How much destruction does Godzilla do before he is stopped. and what happens when he gets his hands on a warp core....

Cool, it's the battle of two different types of technobable. Gozilla style verses Trek style.

Trek weapons (that they're willing to use in LA) have no effect.

They try to beam G out and his internal energy causes feedback that blows out their transporters.

Then, they try the tractor beam thing. It works, but G smokes the first couple of ships that try it and then the Enterprise is rushed in (because it's the only ship in the quadrant that's close enough and tough enough to do the job).

There are not any ships in orbit as usual, so its up to the kids in the Acadamy to come up with some techo-babble solution. I figure 60 minutes at most because thats how long an episode is.

But before the the cadets realign the heating coil on the local lunch truck causing a phase variance in the pho' soup which vaporizes and puts Godilla into slumber mode, he would have vaporized several thousand people.

Trek Phaser's are unlikely to work any better then Japanese MASER's, perhaps some freakish hybrid of the two might be effective...

The Federation is fucked until a large capital ship can be brought in to haul him into space, and even then it will be iffy, Godzilla could do some real damage given time to a Federation ship, and the pure technobable emitted from warp cores would rapidly strengthen him. It's a race to throw him into the sun.

Uh, no starships around? What about that fleet of a couple dozen ships that Adm. Paris mustered in Endgame?

I say Spacedock beams the sucker up and keeps him held in transporter stasis or in the buffer or some weird crap like that until they figure out what to do with him. Or, they just beam him into space and sling him into the Sun with a tractor beam.

An aincient Bird of Prey could beam up a whale along with a zillion tons of water. A tractor beam was used to tow a vessle that was reaking radiation. Both of them are in the standerd repretore of starfleet tactics. It should't take more than a min. for one of the starships to try either tactic, after phasers set on stun, then deep fry, are used first.

Godzilla is far far larger then both whales and there water. However tractor beams should work.

Godzilla is certainly not immune to tractor beams or similar type forcefield projectors (Destroy All Monsters). But the question as to what a tractor's range is would be key to determining if it would be practicable to employing one to lift the King of the Monsters off the planetary surface and into space, where Big Guy would suffocate.

Of course, the truly sad thing is to consider the "solutions" the TNG-era captains would attempt: Picard would try to open negotiations with Godzilla, Sisko would deliver a pompous moral speech to Godzilla before calling upon the Prophets to aid him, and Janeway would either try to take on Godzilla with just a phaser rifle while stripped down to her tank-top or offer to surrender to Big Guy just so that it would spare her crew.

Each captain in turn would know the Bambi Experience.

Added thought - what if Space Demon King Ghidorah arrives on earth TNG. How many people does HE kill (I'll be using the Marc Cerasini "Godzilla 2000" King Ghidorah: IE: the size of Heisie King ghidorah, the abilities of Showa Ghidorah, the coolness of the Mothra 3 "grand King Ghidorah", and beam weapons slightly stronger than Heisie G's Breath weapon(!!!)....the ultimate Ghidorah (and he cxan surivive in Space!))

How Long until Ghidorah is stopped (if he is stopped)

Perhaps. I just remembered Godzilla vs. biollante and Godzilla managed to nail the flying mirror ship at pretty long ranges.
